| Greetings from the darkness once again   You often hear people talking about 'living off grid' and going to live in the woods. Although according to the credits this was actually filmed in holiday homes in Wales. Well, this is yet another one of those films that will put you off the whole idea   Sometimes it's a man on his own, sometimes it's a family, this time it's a couple. Unless you enjoy trapping, skinning and eating rabbits, popping out in the bitter snow to top up the generator  This kind of reminded me of 'Sator' just a little bit. Well, some of the shots of the forest. There is always something happening out in those woods. It is written by and stars Matt Stokoe, although it could be easily written by Bram Stokes - if that doesn't give you a big enough idea about what the woman's problem is then I don't know what will. It mostly follows the day-to-day goings on of this lifestyle, and like this lifestyle this movie won't be for everyone Though it kind of switches in a hard to describe way and back again kind of quickly, if that makes sense but I don't think it did If you like the whole sense of isolation of being stuck in a log cabin in a wintry snowy forest brings you will get something from this. Low budget no doubt but a half decent effort and watchable enough. It is more a psychological movie than a blood and guts, slasher, chainsaw type of movie but there is a sudden flurry of 'horror' towards the end and it is all over rather quickly after that |
