It is a religious painting. St John's head was given to Salome on a platter because she asked for it. I remember hearing the story as a child and thinking that Herod was such a pussy for giving in. Anyway, I watched the trailer and it looks like an interesting film. |
Viewing a movie because of the comments; another nonsensical reason for watching or ignoring. What's wrong with you guys? |
Not familiar with culture, jaxe? The poster is an adaptation of a painting by Caravaggio. Perhaps your pass is justified and the film does suck, but you do pass for the wrong reason. |
There are actually 3 different paintings of the beheading of John the Baptist. This cover art is just one of them albeit the carachter on the right has a different face. ( Not to be confused with Salome with the Head of John the Baptist (Caravaggio, London) or The Beheading of St John the Baptist (Caravaggio).) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salome_with_the_Head_of_John_the_Baptist_(Caravaggio,_London)#/media/File:Salome_with_the_Head_of_John_the_Baptist-Caravaggio_(1610).jpg |
The poster art looks religious. The woman looks like Mary and one of the guys looks like Jesus. Definitely a hard pass. |
I'm not familiar with Caravaggio or Salome but the guy with the big smile on the far right looks just like my cousin Carson who always sits on his hand and farts and then sniffs it and says "Mmm mmm mmm dis smell like salami baby!" |

The destruction of his grandparents' home leads a young man to take revenge under a masked persona.... dont quite think religion fits in there |
Hey jaxe I'm an Ahiiest and I wouldn't stop seeing a film because the cover art is a skewed reproduction of a "Assumed" religious theme. I watched "Vigil" and I am not Jewish. |
