Well balanced between interviews and file footage, a treat for Tina Turner fans and music fans in general. Simply the best. I had always considered Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry (recorded in 1958) to be that track. I scratched my head - Rocket 88? Never heard of it - and then wondered if it was hiding somewhere in my modest collection of roughly 120,000 MP3s. So I actually paused the movie at that point and searched my database. Nope, not there. Not included in any of the hundreds of folders of classic rock tracks and oldies that I've collected over the years. I guess it's because he's been blacklisted - for reasons that are well known. Not to be outfoxed by the censors, however, I hunted for it - and eventually found it on one of the free Russian MP3 sites. It's like that feeling you get when someone says you can't or shouldn't have something and it makes you want it more. Anyway ... if you're interested in adding Rocket 88 to your collection, PM me and I'll send you the link to that Russian MP3 site. |
