![]() | @ Guest-2122 Thank you for your sincere reply. It's nice when people can discuss a film without shouting at each other. I understand what you're saying. And I'm sure this film is an accurate portrayal of the awful reality of dementia. I hope (like you) that I never get it, and if I do, I hope someone slips a cyanide capsule into my morning cuppa joe. ![]() Kind regards, Kent |
![]() | A/V is fine and the critics are in love with it, scoring an incredible rating of 8.3 on IMDb at the moment. Some of the comments above have hinted at this, but I'll be more blunt: I found this movie to be slow, tedious and depressing. If you like intense dramas and/or you can relate to the Dementia topic on a personal level, you might like this film. I get it. And no disrespect to anyone who actually enjoyed it, BUT - despite the outstanding performances and ultra-high ratings, it was just not my cup of tea. Watch it and decide for yourself? Thanks, GalaxyRG. |
![]() | @Bullfrog That was the whole point of the film ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() | This is very relatable. It reminds me of my own grandfather who we used to hide from when he came after us in a flurry of fury accusing us of stealing his whistle ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() | @ kentk9 I agree. You really have to had witnessed your friends or relatives, as has the film-maker, succumbing to this disease to 'get it'. I assume from your comments that you haven't and God-forbid that you ever do. This disease can take people down in a matter of months, from 'getting lost' driving home/in familiar surroundings to ending up a vegetable that can't even recognise their spouse that they have been with for decades. Or seeing people that were once highly regarded in society being completely out of it and reduced to nothing. If you don't get the dementia part it still serves well as a slow-burning Hitchcock-esque 'gas-lighting' movie which a lot of movies goers probably mistake it for anyway. It wasn't all doom-and-gloom though. There was one funny scene when 'Anthony' was tap-dancing... until he turned nasty in an instant... like what happens with dementia sufferers. |
![]() | "REPACK"? What, like a re-packed CAM? This isn't being shown in my local picture theatre until 2022 at the earliest ![]() |
![]() | Thank you guys, the most avited movie ever. Sir Anthony Hopkins did a fantastic role truly a master piece. |
![]() | I enjoyed the CAM ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() | Very Decent copy thank you, the film totally confused me, it was worth a watch though, Anthony Hopkins is one hell of a good actor, he was outstanding in this film. |
![]() | This is a right brain-scrambler of a movie. Even though there is no blood or guts in this movie it knocks the socks off your average ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
