:warn SPOILER ALERT ON THE ROAD AHEAD: OBSERVE ALL SIGNAGE :warn Not bad, perfectly watchable :) And not just because it is a horror movie ;) It won't be everyone's cup of Scarborough ♫ greased tea ♫ Sorry Moz :D but some will win a ♫cheap trick ♫ from it Oops! :D Obviously whoever wrote this has seen 'Misery' :D Also includes a couple of sex scenes and an egregious scene lingering shot of the bare backside of St Maud (or her body double) in the shower 8o The last couple of seconds is searing. More later: stay tuned if you want to find out. Oh, yeah and Scarborough (including such delights as Canvey Island and South Bay) looking its usual dreary self (does Scarborough ever look any other way :D - that's a rhetorical question, you need to answer it :D ) And is that a Scarborough accent St Maud has? Another rhetorical question :D So if you want to see sunny Scarborough :D on film this is worth a watch. To rip-off Morrissey again (sorry, Moz :-) ) ♫ Scarborough, the sea-side town that they forgot to close down ♫ If you are curious to how it ends but can't be bothered to download it be curious no more :warn SPOILER ALERT After dowsing herself with gasoline and setting Maud appears happy and tranquil as if awaiting her ascent to Heaven. Then is the final few seconds it cuts to St Maud screaming in pain and terror as the flames envelope her - Joan of Arc style. Another curiosity, in the end credit it cockroach is credited as being played by 'Nancy' 8o A cockroach actress 8o Seriously :D:-@ |
Even if the movie is pants (don't know - haven't watched it) the final few seconds will make up for it. Worth the download just for the ending. Classic way to end a horror movie :D:-@ |
Certified Fresh Tomatometer score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 102 critics reviews. Critics Consensus: A brilliantly unsettling blend of body horror and psychological thriller, Saint Maud marks an impressive debut for writer-director Rose Glass. |
I had a flick through this when it was on CAM so can't really comment on the movie as a whole at the mo :P but I will say that the ending, the final few frames at any rate, was really good 8o Aarrrrrgh!! 8o:-@ |
Here's a pointer Guest-3661 try using GOOGLE and look for yourself.. |
ok movie, the problem i have with these movies is that they never dare to go out off the deep end, let's see what happens to a fanatic in a world where god is real, loses her faith but keep believing. would she become a demon, a devil of something else intirely and if so, let her give birth to something so sacriligious that god can't do anything because this is out of his control.. idk, im just spitballin' here |
Every time some reviewer lauds a horror movie as so disturbing I end up really disappointed. I found this film to be boring, predictable, a little off it's rocker and the end scene immediately made me go "I know what's gonna happen" Sorry not for me. |
Thank you TGx Definitely Slow Definitely no Horror Definitely won't be watching this again |
Thank you GalaxyRG Nice share.. Audio 8 Video 8 This is Like a Slow Horror Social Satire Mix.. Of Black Swan- Beast and The Favorite.. If your a Low Budget-Slow Burn Psychological Thriller Lover... This Will Probably Work for You.. |
Does anyone notice that the ratings and reviews are a priori higher when it's a horror movie? For some odd reason 'rubbish' then doesn't seem to matter so much… |
