Eimarmeni - totally agree. That is just Black Washing history. You want to make it not real, put a dragon on it then call it a day. But if you try to make it "realistic" then make it realistic, or place it somewhere like in the Caribbean or Africa at that time. Or add some beautiful Black Woman to the story to balance it out.... |
What about Netflix's remake of the Tolstoy classic where a black man played Anna Karenina? And hasn't Tolstoy been branded a 'racist' for the lack of 'diversity' in his novels? :D:-@ |
LeftistDirtBag, this is NOT a forum to vent your political anxieties (also, I'm European and I couldn't care less about your views). This is a place that we express our personal opinions about certain tv series. And since not all people have the same taste, we do in in a respectful manner. You know ... by being POLITE. As for the rest of your story (about what was happening 80 yrs ago), sorry but you're dead wrong. I'm not gonna start explaining to you who Stepin Fetchit was or the place of non-white actors even in Vaudeville. Happy reading. |
TWSTY - Good series and Print - Thanks for the share GalaxyTV ... A / V = 8 |
@Eimarmeni -- 100% AGREE! These PC/ SJWs are re-writing Western history and it's ridiculous, absurd and pathetic! They have no accomplishments of their own, so they have usurp ours and gaslight young people into thinking its always been that way. Keep fighting the good fight! |
This was an excellent series. You will note that much of it was not actually historically correct. Shostakovich's second waltz was not played by a Russian orchestra until 1938 and Mozart's pieces were not as popular at the time as Beethoven and Schubert. It's not just the music but the clothing. I have read the Bridgerton series and the TV series is loosely based on the books, very loosely. I think actors should be able to act and all of these actors did an amazing job. The Duke of Hastings was hot AF and I am sure I'm not the only one who thinks so. If you turned it off then it is your loss. A/V = 8.5 Thanks for the share, I enjoyed it so much!! |
Guest-2613, so is Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina but nobody would think to portray them as black, asian or native american in a movie, just because the US decided to pass its "diversity for the masses" period. Also, grow up and learn some manners. |
I enjoyed this series very much and hope that there is a second season. Lots of sexy scenes, beautiful people, beautiful clothes, and what a story! This was one of the better series to come out. Thank you for sharing. The audio and video were excellent. |
Eimarmeni then U R a STILL Bigot of European Persuasion & a Shameless ~ Hypocrite disrespecting contrary views & name calling people that disagree with U ... U parade ur Vile Ignorance/Bigotry as if it were a badge of Virtue*\0/* African/Black Aristocracy was a relatively common phenomena in Old Europe, U do know the African Moors intermingles assisted many Magnificent European Societies... U remember Shakespeare's "Othello"? U do know the author of "The Count of Montecristo & The Three Musketeers", Alexander Dumas was Black/African right? Old Europe was not Sick with Color coded Racism, that is a recent 500yr old disease resulting from a period of greed & exploitation & that is daily being eradicated & corrected... Thank tha Gods/Goddesses that Dinosaurs like U are Going EXTINCT ***** LONG LIVE THE DIVERSE HUMAN FAMILY |
Eimarmeni Ur a Bigot ... The BRIDGTONS are fictitious characters *\0/* |
