:warn POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT AHEAD :warn This thread needs a couple of corrections: The whole of the movie does not take place in a log cabin, it is a whole 40 minutes in to a 1 hour and 40 minutes runtime before we set eyes on a log cabin. There are a lot more than just the two actors - see the cast list. This is one of those brooding mind-bending psychological thrillers that get scratching your head trying to figure out the truth. Lies? Deception? Hallucinations? False memory syndrome? We see, or we think we see, Andrew killing Jack. At the end the cops enter a log cabin where we believe Jack is tied up. The cops says: "Unchain him", but we never see who is really tied up. Hmm :idea The same cop who beats the crap out of the suspect in the interview (interrogation) room. Who appears just as prone to sudden outbreaks of violence as the main suspect. Some nice crispy landscapes of a chilly, snow-covered British Columbia, Canada to feast your eyes on. It has a couple of those 'dead people' sequences which seem to be all the rage at the moment, and may not be to everyone's taste. It we obviously shot on a shoe-string budget. There is some out-of -sync over-dubbing. Noticeable in one part when the cop is threatening to put the cuffs on Andrew. Also the 'foley' is a bit off at time too, snow crunching, paper crumbling. It is, however, noticeable that when they are sat in the log cabin in sub-zero temperatures that you can see the cold on their breath. A lot of movies trip up on details like that. Though given the shoestring budget the actors and crew probably were out in the freezing cold. It is what is is, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but it does give you something to think about and try and piece together. Like most movies you have to crank the volume up a bit which brought out some distortion on the bass, but no big deal :P If you enjoy these kind of flicks is it perfectly watchable. :-@ |
This is ever so slightly better than your average Hallmark/Lifeline movie :-@ Ever. So. Slightly. :| Was going to give it a 1.5 but seen as it's the Happy Holiday season and seen as Galaxy don't do fractions will round it up to a generous 2/5 on the Trejo-Cage scale. :-) |
Thanks for the info from every 1/ it seems like the toilet at the Mexican restaurant is a lot scarier after taco Tuesday then this movie :-) Diego's Dumpster cantina has pretty good short hold Chalupa's but stay away from the :o)chimichanga's unless you can make it home in say 15 minutes or so....arriba darse prisa :D:facepalm |
MMmmmmm, but, wasn't "Room" a little confined by the setting and quantity of actors involved for almost the whole movie? Thanks for the review Reaper, this one time I'm gonna risk it. |
Some well, some :D snappy dialogue in this. Cop is giving the suspect the old "mind if I take a look around your house :D " routine. "Have you got a warrant?" "Do I need a warrant? :) "I think it is time for you to leave :| " The cop leaves. Later on. Bang, bang at the door. It's the cops: "Here's your warrant :D " |
Holy hell, Batman was thinking of downloading this, thought it might be interesting :P :D but your review has given me second thoughts. Thanks Reaper B) :-@ |
Thank you GalaxyRG Audio 8 Video 8 Another Movie Made on a Shoestring Budget.. And You can Tell.. Acting Very Average.. Story line Uninteresting.. A Lot of the Movie Takes Place in a Shed.. And Really Features just the Two Main Actors... This Was a Hard Slog to Watch.. |
In a shed, huh? ...well, a good lockdown movie, as we all slog through the pandemic? It wasn't that bad, but if you like single scene movies, it's excellent!! |
@Guest-2079 If you keep going down that road your paving you'll eventually qualify for disability as Agoraphobic. |
Thank you TGx should have saved my data though it's not that good Also Guest-3007 Where in any of the comments does it say (the whole of the movie takes place in a log cabin) and (there are only two actors) i think you need to correct your post :) |
