Watched the first two episodes this evening. First impressions: it's not 'ha ha' 'laugh out loud' funny, more of a dry humor, but there are some funny moments - and I love Fred Armisen in whatever role he's in. The humor is there, but so is the drama, which makes it feel a bit awkward, almost as though the writers couldn't decide whether to make this series funny or serious. Trying to do both may have been a mistake. Not sure how the rest of the episodes will play out, but I will continue watching it. Holding off on a rating for now. Audio and video are great, as usual. Contains 6 episodes of roughly 25 minutes per episode. Thank you GalaxyTV. EDIT: Just finished watching this and wanted to add a few final thoughts to what I wrote yesterday. Looking on the bright side, it's only 6 short episodes; roughly the length of a single feature-length movie. There are some funny bits, as I mentioned above, but if you're looking for a 'funny' laugh your ass off comedy, this doesn't quite cut it. And if you're looking for serious science fiction, I'm afraid it doesn't cut it in that category either. Basically, it's a hot mess, but entertaining enough to watch if you've run out of the good stuff. On the TGx 5 star scale, I'd give it a 2.5/5. Not a total failure but not good enough to recommend. |
