A few final thoughts on this series, for those who are still undecided. Guest-1194 is not wrong for requesting subtitles. The international crew aboard the ship includes a Russian dude, a Chinese woman and an Indian. In several scenes, they do speak in their native languages. Hard-coded subs would have been nice, but I have no idea how or where to get them. Maybe someone smarter than me can help out with that. As for the series itself (aside from the foreign language issue mentioned above) some of the criticism found on IMDb is valid insofar as there is actually a fair amount of back-story, which veers away from the sci-fi aspect by delving maybe a little too deeply into the personal lives and dramas of the crew members and their families. On the bright side, the story and the acting are both quite good and the abundance of back-story hasn't affected my overall positive impression of the series. The special FX and tense moments make up for all of that, imho. At only 2.29 GB, it's a pretty good deal. Popcorn not included. :P |

This new series presents more of a realistic interpretation of what a manned expedition to Mars would look like. The topic has been done before, but I enjoyed the first episode and will continue watching it tomorrow. It's not flashy or scary but there's enough drama in it to make it entertaining, and it's a Netflix production, with an excellent cast and a solid budget for props and FX. So far, IMDb reviews have not been too kind, with most reviewers complaining about poor writing and that there's too much 'family drama', but I'm gonna hang with it for a few more episodes cuz' I'm a sucker for anything about space travel. :D The series contains 10 episodes of roughly 50 minutes each. Audio and video are both outstanding. Thanks, GalaxyTV. B) EDIT: Just finished episode two and still diggin' it. |
G-day, Guest-1078 This series has moved off of the front page, so it's rather unlikely that anyone will reply. If you join the site as a member (which is really easy to do) you could post your question within the forum, which gets regular traffic from the people who actually upload stuff here. The forum is divided into different sub-topics, including several sections related to technical issues. Plus, when you join, the pop-up adverts will stop completely. I'd love to answer your question, but I'm just a minion, with no technical skills to speak of. If you join, you'll find the Forum link in blue font at the top of the page. |
^ Dude, nice share. Thank you for the subtitle link. EDIT: Just finished it. No spoilers, but if you're starting to get a little bored, hang in there. Episodes 7 to 10 are significantly more exciting, and more of what most sci-fi fans were probably hoping for. And the ending is spectacular. In fact, the last 4 episodes were so good I feel a little guilty now for giving it only 4 stars. If there's a season 2, I'm definitely in. |
