| yesterday percio made the precise point that has been hammered away at here, except from the opposite perspective. that is, her goal, and that of all the "traumatised"/"transitioning" republicans supporting biden, is to take back the republican party and try to rebuild and strengthen it. scarborough has been slamming away for nearly four years since '2016 about how the republicans are self-destructing under the trump era. if joe biden wins two things happen. it is unbelievable how no one seems to realize this on the "educated" level. the only hopes are in the working class non-college educated it seems, plus ironically the kamikaze trump personality cult. those two forces may pull off a miracle with some it seems unlikely luck of fate, and elect trump again so that two things happen and two things don't happen. if biden is elected, the republican party is "saved" and all republican operatives get "their" party back, and run their reactionary hypocrisy with a renewed gusto and get to blame trump for wasting four years and immediately switch to advocating policy to the right of already nearly republican biden. that's why they love him so much compared to trump, since trump rings true to the core of what they are instead of ciphering their version of corporate socialism a slightly tweaked establishment democrat smile at a different angle. trump rips open the mask on the festering sore that is and always has been the republican party, with a panache of unrivalled cultural upheaval. this is good. and when the shit hits the fan in his second term it will be a perfect indictment of both all republicans and also the truly fatuous neoliberal democrats. here is where scarborough makes zero sense. so the republicans are reprehensible for following trump down the rabbit hole, so then doesn't that beg the question why not let them burn down completely? let trump have his way with them. it would also be good for the neoliberal democrats to get thrashed and crushed again in back to back presidential election cycles, again, not because of a "lesson", but because it would shift the electorate, not the crash test dummy interchangeable neoliberal democrats. from the ashes an invigorated left that has purged its corporate/"fascist" wing, and from the center a shift left, and from the right a shift to the center and left. if biden wins, all the opposite! a complete disaster. benjamin franklin, "There are no gains, without pains..." |
