In the first half of the 70s, the Brussels group “Kleptomania” was among the most significant live compositions of the Belgian scene. The first composition was formed in 1968: Charlie Deraedemaeker (bass) and John (unknown name) - drums. They invited the two who left Liberty Six - guitarist Francis Weyer (later Francis Goya) and vocalist Lou Deprijck. Shortly afterwards, Charlie decided to continue with Wim Hombergen and Roger Wollaert (both of “Four Of A Kind”), who replaced the two former members. Starting as a trio, they soon met Dany Lademacher at a concert organized by their manager Wilfried Brits. Denis played in the post-Hendrix band Les Shakes and released two singles with them in 1967. When the musicians started jamming with this guitar sorcerer, the listeners just fell in place, and he was immediately invited. When the debut single Kept Woman / Out Of A Nightmare was released in 1970, it was very heavy and similar to the increasingly popular Black Sabbath. The musicians worked on stage wonderfully, as could be seen at the Puzzle P Festival in Brussels in June (the Wallace Collection headlined) and especially in August at the Bilzen Rock & Jazz Festival, where they performed with Badfinger and Screaming Lord Sutch . The band gave several concerts even in Congo! The concerts included not only their own things, but also the Evergreen “Led Zeppelin” and Rory Gallagher’s “Taste”. Later that year, the second single “I’ve Got My Woman By My Side / Lovely Day” was released. Two more singles were released the following year, but it became clear in them that the group was moving away from heavy roots. Changes in the composition followed, the name was reduced to "Klepto", and in the mid-70s they completely broke up. True, in the wake of the universal reunions in 2007, they also gathered, performing at a concert in Brussels on February 8 ... Musicians began working on their first album in Holland in 1971, but work was stopped when their label “Flame Records” went bankrupt. Four recorded things and seven rehearsal recordings appeared only at the 1979 bootleg. Judging by them, it was supposed to be music in the style of “Cream” and “Black Sabbath”, but more improvisational and less bluesy, with many impressive guitar passages in long instruments. Fortunately, the story does not end there. In 1995, Music Emporium released a double collector's CD containing all their famous recordings. In addition to all the above material, the disc includes 11 demo tracks recorded from 1972 to 1974. In addition, the band members subsequently played in the Tush hard rock line-up and released an EMI album in 1977.
