Often, the highlight of the MSNBC broadcast day is Rachel Maddow's hand-off to
Lawrence O'Donnell. You can learn a lot in the brief conversations these two veterans
have about the news of the day. Unfortunately, MSNBC ALWAYS edits the hand-off
OUT of the streamed versions of the two shows!
Tonight: Lawrence tries his best to engage Rachel in commentary style
conversation tonight, leading off with the topic of General Mattis' remarkable
opinion piece...

...But Rachel seems hesitant to be able to engage and comment tonight(!),
...seemingly suffering from perhaps a combination of anger, depression,

Lawrence wants to use the "pebble rolling down the hill, creating an avalanche"
analogy (as to whether or not Mattis, finally having spoken out, publicly, will
eventually bring Republicans to the point where they will find the courage to
speak out against this destructive "president"...) But Rachel's clearly not able
to get on the same hopeful train track with Lawrence tonight, and clearly just
wants to disengage... and go home (resulting in this extremely short hand-off).
Again, who could blame her, in this incredibly troubling time.
