Flash, thanks for clarifying this. apologies for presuming it was a mod. the previous three comments on a previous torrent from the 20th were left sequentially right away in a monologue/soliloquy form, so to speak, and were not deleted, and when this happened before the other week it seemed to be ad hoc "content" based deletions that were then seemingly overridden and undeleted. further back on the url above from the 11th of march it was not clear to me based on miok's previous statement that this was spam protection, it seemed to be mod based deletion (which had been unsure of before that, perhaps the protection alerts a mod who must sift them and therefore these comments are burdensome?) so, that plus the comment exchange with battlestar on the torrent here on the 10th of april where everything that was deleted was eventually undeleted thought resolved this. that had the impression that these anonymous comments could continue plus the previous experience with the deletion earlier. will abide by your request and will only post an individual comment. would only reiterate that perhaps the rules should be expanded to explain what the comments are for because as of now even these, as was said, monologues, don't seem to be restricted by them at all under the comment section of the rules on the link of the footer of the site. unfortunately cannot create an account, will abide by your suggestion in the future though. thank you. |
another day later as time tends to be, for the one comment of the day: the system triggering flagging the comments may be spam protection, however the deletion of these three comments most certainly wasn't. because they weren't spam. the definition of spam is pretty clear, and in no way can these comments be construed as spam. haven't a clue about the back-end of the spam protection system or how anonymous comments are flagged and moderated, however presumably since even as the description of "up to 3 or 4 max size comments at times" is true still these do instantaneously appear posted on the site right away, only to be deleted later. so presumably the spam protection "system" flags the comments for a mod, then a mod looks at them and either deletes them or doesn't. so instead of just entering a comment explaining as you did, some mod again merely deleted these three comments. in the days afterwards did notice a bonafide spam protest occur that this commenter had nothing to do with, while apologies to the mods on behalf of whoever. it was kind of funny, and was particularly funny because it probably created more "work" than just leaving these comments undeleted and just explaining as Flash did that "spam protection" was making these serially anonymous comments onerous to allow, so that they could cease. thus, however much it doesn't at all matter, these three comments being deleted last week are most certainly political censorship by any reasonable standard, and inversely they weren't spam. while of course will take Flash's point to limit future comments to a single block, the confusion remains about what comments are for other than comments? and also that presumably means that only a solitary comment, anywhere, can be left within every 24 hour period without triggering the system? the ignorance of what this "spam protection" system is remains a bottleneck, is it merely the same IP leaving more than a single comment being flagged? didn't realize it was an issue so never switched servers, however perhaps this would have prevented this if had the foresight to switch servers between comments? if that was done, then these comments wouldn't be flagged and then a mod wouldn't have to bother with them? (unless they were "reported" of course, which doesn't "seem" to be happening, it just seems that some mod is pissed about these comments and they perhaps maybe also don't like the political opining.) |
wow. will this be deleted too? ok, so all three comments were deleted here. instead of only deleting the second comment (that maybe had merit because it was basically just a harsh detestation of a "journalist", a public figure, who was thoroughly detestable up to and all throughout the iraq war) the first & third comment absolutely didn't break any of the site rules. again, for whoever is deleting these comments where in the site rules? presumably since this doesn't have anything to do with the automatic comment system or reporting, don't understand in the least why this deletion of comments keeps occurring. don't want to presume any specific mod, however before on the "infamous" (heavy sarcasm) 21 comment post of last week there was an attempt to make an erroneous case against comments that were reinstated. the question this time is, trying to be reasonable, why delete all three comments after we've already been through this the other week? deleting the second comment, that's fine (a test of the limits of what "speech" this mod deems the rules to stifle here), however deleting all three? that is clearly only out of spite and political suppression of thoughts and perspectives that whoever is deleting these comments gets satisfaction deleting. again, the question remains, if you don't like it, then either respond to it or leave it be, but to delete it without any reason other than spite or a different political opinion is still as previously stated... basically this is the third time this has happened. the first time, two mods actually put on the "record" where they stood and comments were undeleted. the second time the other week, the comments were evidently eventually just undeleted by some enlightened mods because absolutely no site rules were broken. presumably some other mods are now going to have to waste their time undeleting the first and third comments here? hopefully although regrettably. as to the second comment, being at least reasonable here, will understand if that is left deleted since it was harsh. the other two comments, would really like to know which part of them violated the rules? again, if the deletion of comments weren't shadow deleted and a mod could specify a reason for a deletion then wouldn't pose this question, however this censor that seems to at this point enjoy censorship does pique curiosity. https://torrentgalaxy.to/torrent/13943233/Morning-Joe-2020-03-11-720p-WEBRip-x264-PC-mp4 |
Flash, or other mod if this happens to be seen, or if protections of some kind are flagged, just saying think it would be helpful if the rules added outlines for what the comments are for. there doesn't seem to be any specifications defining this. seeing as this isn't twitter (far better than that, for myriad of reasons, even with these struggles) didn't think verbosity would be an issue, otherwise the comment max length could be limited. (within how the rules stand didn't know there was a comment number limit either.) presumably there are no specifications for what comments are for because tautologically comments are self-defined, that is they are comments--what else could they be "for"? am genuinely wondering about this. anonymity is preferable, thus without an account, which is very cool for torrentgalaxy to allow. also, for the very few if any who read these soliloquies, it has the dual advantage of being public and also anonymous. all that said, in the future will only leave individual comments instead of sequences. hope the first three comments would be undeleted, maybe minus the second one, because again was unaware that this was an undesirable activity and burdensome because of a protection system that is being triggered. some additional meaninglessness on packer is necessary. while this opinion thinks his articles are lousy, his politics intellectually insipid, and the book he wrote on a "prominent" diplomat horrible hagiography, even while the subject was a slimeball, it is just the perfect example that "everyone" thinks so highly of him is a complete indictment of the class of hack "journalists" and poor readers/culture, especially among the "educated liberal" class that encompass the english speaking world. it is no surprise that right-wing propaganda does so well when the "highbrow" narrative alternatives are such. finally that aside, it seems what happens is that these anonymous comments trigger a protection system and then a mod has to sift through them, which is clearly onerous, and that is the problem, right? so if a sequence doesn't occur, and only an instance of a sole comment, the protections won't occur, and no mod will have to hassle with these piddling comments this commenter leaves? trying to get clarity on how this system functions. if one anonymous comment is left on different torrents that also triggers this system? should a certain time elapse? maybe should cease altogether. thanks. |
the point that was striving to make in all these deleted comments is simply that in lieu of a vaccine osterholm is saying even if economies around the world are slowly "reopened" basically nearly three quarters of the populations will eventually be infected. so far in the united states fifty thousand have already died and that is just in a little over a month while closing down the economy. it seems the wild card here is what will the culminative death rate be before a vaccine in eighteen months or maybe miraculously less than that? if the united states opens back up and the monthly death toll stays at fifty thousand that probably can't be "great" for trump in the election, every two months or so one hundred thousand? don't really see though how biden benefits though, he blames trump? those totals will certainly be larger than one hundred thousand and it seems certainly more than two hundred also that they have made the goalposts which will move. then again if the virus chronically re-entrenches and is a global phenomena where every country struggles upon "reopening" perhaps they will politically maneuver around this epic disaster. right now the health concerns are of the utmost importance in the electorate however by november with the economy in further and further shambles that may not be politically as horrible for trump as the non-trumpites are making out the health care response to be in the present day. trumpites will make the case like obama made that it could have been worse. basically if everyone were to be infected in waves to get antibodies there would be a death rate quite high, especially if the healthcare system is overrun. it seems the "remedy" that is going to be implemented is something along the lines of continually infect as many low-risk of the population as possible without overrunning the hospitals and get to herd immunity for everyone that can be exposed to the virus, and those at high-risk wait for a vaccine in the bunkers. a lot of people will die if they do this, but it doesn't seem they have the choice as the economic contagion will invariably grow more so if everything is always completely closed. it is a real disaster and the political disaster with the republicans and democrats certainly doesn't help. so both sides will throw mud at each other and who really knows what happens in the election, however just like everything in politics, guesses can be made. |
however, even after the previous deletion about this subject, furthermore, this below is a dust speck tip of the iceberg on packer, who is beyond insidious the way his ineptitude surrounds below and above all his inane highfalutin evasion of intellectual probity, which is what composes the vast swaths of his sprawling and thoroughly mediocre journalism. not quite sure if there is something wrong with him that he is a mere nincompoop in an industry of such or if he is just a perfectly self-conscious hack. even this piece is way too kind although excellently written, https://crookedtimber.org/2014/05/28/george-packer-and-his-problems/ |
maybe this might be helpful? https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/censorship also to whoever is deleting those three comments on this torrent perhaps you should probably delete/censor the comment responding to this other anonymous commenter, let's be consistent in our shadow censorship here, https://torrentgalaxy.to/torrent/13967012/The-Rachel-Maddow-Show-2020-04-06-1080p-WEBRip-x265-HEVC-LM |
