Summary from the website (partial)
"The School for Scandal was written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan, with a prologue by
the famous actor David Garrick, and was first performed in 1777.
It’s the story of two brothers, one apparently a model citizen, the other a dissolute ne’er-do-well. But as the play progresses and the scandal-mongering backfires, the tables are turned on the siblings. An enduring classic that still hits home today..."

My notes
Though theatre is and should always be for everyone, this production
shows how broad a production can be.
This is the third of the Greenwich products I have in my fileshare collection. .
The interval simply goes dark with more black screen than is needed. I have made
the torrent in two parts.
English subtitles are available for those who wish to follow the performance with
text. Sheridan like Shakespeare produces dialog where the intricacy of the dialog
make subtitles a convenient addition. In VLC or other player, subs can be found in
the player's menu top of screen.
One note on Stage On Screen. Please encourage them through their website
to make these dvd boxes of Volpone, The Duchess of Malfi and School for Scandal
more readily available. There is also a Dr. Faustus in which Joanna Christie
plays Helen of Troy but I've never had access to that.
This from the website: "The School for Scandal is now available to purchase on DVD or as
paid downloads on YouTube." The service is new since I last checked. But
these plays are file shared for those who may not be in a position to use the services as paid clients.
Those who can, should. You can find "Volpone" and "The Duchess of Malfi" under my login name.
