Storyline: Sentenced to fifteen months for a criminal offense committed ten years earlier, Piper Chapman leaves her supportive groom-to-be Larry for her new home: a women's jail. Her counselor, Sam Healy, empathizes together with her and tries to carefully offer her tips to survive. She grapples with the racial dynamics of jail life and learns a number of the foundations. sadly, she offends Red, the powerful matriarch of the jail room, WHO responds by serving Piper a bloody tampon and afterwards starving her. Piper is then dismayed to find that Alex Vause, her former lover (who recruited her into carrying drug money) is within the same jail.
