 | What’s the point of this film? “Don’t Turn the Light’s Off” is a "soft pop rock" thriller. Imagine if “From” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” had a slightly awkward, forgettable baby. That’s your film. It’s got all the usual horror tropes: the over the top look at me prom queen, the brooding boyfriend, the wisecracking best friend, and a few token diverse friends who are there mainly to make the group look like they’ve got a little social awareness. The movie’s plot is disjointed. A bunch of friends pile into an RV (because apparently, cabins are so 2010) and head to a music festival. Along the way, they get lost – and of course, there’s no WiFi. This sends them straight into the clutches of some classic backwoods folk - with the bartender being the absolute worst of the bunch. The directors know how to play with light and shadow but either they don't know or they don't car how easy it is for viewers to lose interest in characters who, like these 4 or 5 juveniles, consistently make wrong choices. It’ll make you feel like a sadistic puppet master ( or maybe it's just me) watching these characters stumble through their own bad decisions, which are clearly the result of lazy writing and just poor character development.......... |

 | While the acting wasn't the best, I have seen much much worse than this. Having said that, it was well enough delivered. It fit perfectly in as a filler while we wait for season 2 of From, if you liked From you may well just like this. |
