| Recently (May 30) I posted a message pointing out that the data that LarMer posted for segment titles for All In and The 11th Hour shows of May 29 was apparently wrong for one of the shows. See his message: > https://torrentgalaxy.org/forum/perma/52865/MSNBC-Shows I wrote in part: > This data you list for AI and TEH is the same for both shows. I then asked him: > Is the data for one of them incorrect? See my message: > https://torrentgalaxy.org/forum/perma/52868/MSNBC-Shows Today I was surprised to see that LarMer had eventually posted a Like for my message above. I had never seen any reply from him, either in this thread (MSNBC Shows) or via PM. Nor had I noticed any correction. My message shows: > Posted at 2019-05-30 21:05:56 (1 Day ago) His message shows: > Last edited by LarMer on 2019-05-30 22:37:17 So he clearly edited his message after mine was posted. But I double-checked, and there was NO correction or change to the segment titles listed for either the AI or TEH shows. For my own curiosity, early yesterday morning, I DLed the segment information. Here it is: > McConnell blocks bills to combat election interference > 05/29/19 09:03PM > Robert Mueller says "every American" should be worried about Russia's > ongoing efforts to undermine our democracy. But the top Republican in > Congress refuses to do anything about it. > Mueller contradicts Barr > 05/29/19 08:57PM > In setting the record straight today, Robert Mueller contradicted > Attorney General William Barr about Mueller's own report, particularly > on Trump's potential obstruction of justice. > Cory Booker on impeachment: Trump can't be allowed to be above the law > 05/29/19 08:47PM > "History is going to look back at this moment and what we choose to > do," Sen. Cory Booker tells Chris Hayes, adding, "I think the right > thing right now is to hold this president accountable for his > actions." > Mueller: If we had confidence Trump didn't commit a crime, > 'We would have said so' > 05/29/19 08:30PM > Special Counsel Robert Mueller explains why indicting President Trump > was "never an option." See: > All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC > http://www.msnbc.com/all/episodes#!#full-episodes Hence, the information that LarMer posted for AI was incorrect. So what gives? Three words immediately came to mind: discourteous > not caring enough about other people's feelings; not polite See: > DISCOURTEOUS | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary > https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/discourteous inconsiderate > not caring about other people or their feelings; selfish See: > INCONSIDERATE | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary > https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/ cliquish > (of a group or place) tending to form or hold exclusive groups > and so not welcoming to outsiders. > Oxford University Press logo > https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/cliquish This thread was started by LarMer, Pawpcorn, and BB (burningbush) -- not me. See: > By: LarMer > Posted at 2018-11-03 15:08:54 ( 29 Wks ago) > Welcome to the MSNBC thread > Please reply in here or send a PM if you have a request or something > isn't working and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible. > https://torrentgalaxy.org/forum/perma/23273/MSNBC-Shows You will notice that since an exchange between BB and me, I have not gotten any direct replies from him, Pawpcorn or LarMer. See: > By: burningbush > Posted at 2019-05-23 05:36:09(1Wk ago) > There was no snarkiness intended from me. ... > https://torrentgalaxy.org/forum/perma/52051/MSNBC-Shows In fact, I also got no Likes from BB, not any replies to two PMs sent to him. Since there is an apparent pattern here, logic dictates that it cannot be a mere coincidence. Shunning > Shunning can be the act of social rejection .... > Social rejection occurs when a person or group deliberately avoids > association with, and habitually keeps away from an individual or > group. This can be a formal decision by a group, or a less formal > group action which will spread to all members of the group as a form > of solidarity. It is a sanction against association ... with ... > tightly knit organizations and communities. Targets of shunning can > include persons who have been labeled as ... dissidents ... or > anyone the group perceives as a threat or source of conflict. Social > rejection has been established to cause psychological damage and has > been categorized as torture or punishment. ... See: > Shunning - Wikipedia > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunning Shunning has an effect, so don't be surprised that I haven't upload any shows in some time. | drhankh, I made a bunch of mistakes on the May 29th episode postings. I had seen messages from both you and burningbush about different mistakes I had made. 1. My post here had dated those episodes as the 30th rather than the 29th. 2. I had posted segment titles for 11th Hour as well as the 11th Hour's screenshot under All In's 720p posting. I thought I corrected both these mistakes but I didn't, not sure what went wrong. I apologize if this came off as rude or standoffish. That was not my intention at all. I was operating on ~2 hours of sleep that day and my mind felt pretty hazy, especially after the 8 hour work day (manual labour in the hot sun). I don't like making excuses for poor behaviour, though. I take full responsibility for that screw up and will try to be better going forward. ~LM Last edited by LarMer on 2019-06-02 03:06:00 | |

House Whip Rep. James Clyburn tells Joy Reid, ‘I don’t think we’re there yet’ on impeachment in their interview on public perceptions of the Democrats’ approach to Donald Trump. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is perceived by many as refusing to commit to impeaching Donald Trump, despite many viewing Robert Mueller as strongly implying it is the responsibility of Congress to hold the president accountable for many of the misdeeds outlined in Mueller’s report. Joy Reid and her panel discuss what the consequences could be for failing to impeach Trump now. The number of Capitol Hill Democrats who disagree with Nancy Pelosi on not starting impeaching proceedings against Donald Trump is now up to 52, plus one Republican, Justin Amash. Joy Reid is joined by journalist David Frum, who outlines his arguments for why Pelosi is right. William Barr has received criticism for his apparent belief that the U.S. intelligence agencies were possibly out of line for investigating foreign interference in the 2016 election. Joy Reid and her panel discuss additional controversial statements the attorney general made in a recent interview. This week Donald Trump threatened to impose escalating tariffs on Mexico unless the nation somehow stops migration into the United States. Joy Reid and her panel discuss how ultimately these tariffs could impact American jobs. Last edited by Pawpcorn on 2019-06-02 11:59:41

| Jared Kushner’s Axios Interview, June 03, 2019, 720p Duration: 36 minutes Jared Kushner’s Axios Interview 2019 06 03 720p WEBRip x264-PC Jared Kushner’s Axios Interview Was a Total Clown Show. Here Are His Most Cringeworthy Answers. Slate; By Matthew Dessem June 03, 2019 The second season of Axios premiered on HBO Sunday night, and it kicked off with an interview with Senior Advisor to the President of the United States Jared Kushner. It was, to borrow a phrase from a Senior Advisor to the President of the United States, “a clown show.” Axios reporter Jonathan Swan pushed back at some of Kushner’s more ridiculous statements, and in response, Kushner fell flat on his face so quickly he appeared to be suffering from some sort of localized anomaly in Earth’s gravitational field. It turns out that the president’s son-in-law has been reticent with the press for reasons that become painfully clear as the interview progresses: He doesn’t know anything and he believes even less. Here are three of his most spectacular face-plants. On Abortion Kushner first ran into trouble when Swan pushed him on Donald Trump’s extremely late-in-life conversion to the anti-abortion movement. To naïve observers, it might seem like political operatives should work to achieve political goals they believe in, but as Kushner explained, there’s nothing unseemly about “enforcing” policies that hurt other people, even if you don’t support those policies yourself: Kushner: … I think [Trump] respects people who are willing to be honest with him. When I do disagree, you’ll never read about it in the press, and I wouldn’t say it publicly. But I will say there’s a lot more things I agree with him on than disagree. Swan: So you agree with him on economics, on foreign policy. Where do you stand on abortion? Kushner: Again, I was not the person who was elected. Swan: So you agree with the president’s position? Kushner: I’m here to enforce his positions. His position is the one that as a staffer in the White House, we’ll work to push. So if you don’t like Jared Kushner’s current work “enforcing” his father-in-law’s anti-abortion positions, don’t hold it against Jared Kushner: he doesn’t really believe in any of it. Maybe he can work for a pro-choice administration next and undo some of the damage! On Whether or Not Palestinians Can Govern Themselves Kushner’s next gaffe comes from a tactic more interviewers should employ when dealing with the Trump administration: Asking an open-ended question that allows the interviewee to ramble on until they reveal how far out of their depth they are. In this case, Swan asks if Palestinians are “capable of governing themselves.” Let’s see if Kushner spots the racism inherent in treating that like an open question, or if he tries to bullshit his way through by giving what he thinks sounds like a judicious answer: Swan: Do you believe that the Palestinians are capable of governing themselves without Israeli interference? Kushner: I think that’s a very good question. I think that that’s one that we’ll have to see. The hope is is that they, over time, can become capable of governing … Swan: They being the Palestinians. Kushner: The Palestinians. I think there are some things that the current Palestinian government has done well and there are some things that are lacking. And I do think that in order for the area to be investable, for investors to come in and want to invest in different industries and infrastructure and create jobs, you do need to have a fair judicial system, freedom of press, freedom of expression, tolerance for all religions, and so … Swan: Can they have freedom from any Israeli government or military interference? Kushner: I think that it’s a high bar. Well, that didn’t go well. Kushner is not willing to talk about the specifics of his long-promised plan for the middle east, but if the goal is to make the area “investable” while we all wait around until Jared Kushner decides that the Palestinians can be treated like adults, that doesn’t sound like great news for the Palestinians. It’s also a pleasure to watch Kushner scurry off into vague poll-tested phrases whenever he’s asked about something concrete, like his half-remembered salute to the Four Freedoms above. There’s also this exchange, in which Kushner makes the claim that the Palestinians are too focused on bread-and-butter issues to worry about anything as abstract as sovereignty; he could have a bright future running messaging for the Democratic Party: Swan: Do you believe the Palestinian people deserve their own independent sovereign state with a capital in East Jerusalem? Kushner: There’s a difference between the technocrats and there’s a difference between the people. The technocrats are focused on very technocratic things, and when I speak to Palestinian people, what they want is they want the opportunity to live a better life. They want the opportunity to pay their mortgage, to have … Swan: You don’t think they want their own state, free from Israeli government and military? Kushner: I think that they want an opportunity. Damn those technocrats, always focusing on the wrong things! On Whether or Not Donald Trump Has Ever Done Anything Racist This is probably the most telling exchange in the interview, and it’s worth savoring how beautifully Swan crafts its one-two punch. First he lets Kushner ramble on and on about how much Donald Trump isn’t a racist. Then he asks him about specific racist actions Trump has taken recently, leaving Kushner to explain how Trump’s birtherism and promise of a ban on Muslim immigration were not, in fact, racist or bigoted. (He doesn’t even get into the Central Park Five.) You can see Kushner trying to pull off the traditional Republican move of pondering whether or not Trump is “a racist” while Swan keeps refocusing on Trump’s racist actions rather than the contents of his heart. Swan: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she calls, she has called President Trump a racist. Have you ever seen him say or do anything that you would describe as racist or bigoted? Kushner: So the answer is no. Absolutely not. You can’t not be a racist for 69 years and then run for president and be a racist. What I’ll say is that when a lot of the Democrats cause the president a racist, I think they’re doing a disservice to people who suffer because of real racism in this country. Swan: Was birtherism racist? Kushner: Um, look, I wasn’t really involved in that. Swan: I know you weren’t! Was it racist? Kushner: Like I said, I wasn’t involved in that. Swan: I know you weren’t! Was it racist? Kushner: Um, look, I know who the president is and I have not seen anything in him that is racist. So, again, I was not involved in that. Swan: Did you wish he didn’t do that? Kushner: Like I said, I was not involved in that. That was a long time ago. Swan: The other issue that often gets brought up in this conversation is that he campaigned on banning Muslims. Would you describe that as religiously bigoted? Kushner: Look, I think that the president did his campaign the way he did his campaign, and I think… Swan: He did! But do you wish he didn’t? Do you wish he didn’t make that speech? Kushner: Uh, I think he’s here today and I think he’s doing a lot of great things for the country, and that’s what I’m proud of. “I think that the president did his campaign the way he did his campaign” is an amazing statement from a man who claimed only seconds earlier to have never seen Donald Trump do anything racist. Kushner is perfectly fine with allying with white supremacists for tactical reasons, and seems annoyed that anyone would ask him if Trump was being sincere about it. Kushner’s answer seems to be, essentially, that of course Donald Trump’s belief in white supremacy isn’t sincere, which is why it is okay to work for him. (Similarly, Kushner resents that people might assume he is personally anti-abortion simply because he is helping a president with the stated goal of overturning Roe v. Wade: He’s a pure mercenary.) But no one would care what Donald Trump believed if he were a brain in a jar: It’s what he does that people object to. And as ridiculous as Kushner’s Axios interview was, it’s what Jared Kushner has done that matters, not anything he said in this embarrassing television appearance. Still, it’s hard to say whether or not talking to Axios will help or hurt Kushner in the long run. On the one hand, he revealed himself and the administration that hired him to be even more dangerously unqualified than the nation had previously imagined. On the other hand, he’s going to be squirming and dissembling his way through awkward explanations of his time working for the Trump administration for the rest of his life. It can’t hurt to get a little practice in. Last edited by Pawpcorn on 2019-06-03 13:50:52 | |

| Hi LarMer, Thank you kindly for your message addressed to me (June 1). > drhankh:, I made a bunch of mistakes on the May 29th episode postings. > I had seen messages from both you and burningbush about different mistakes > I had made. 1. My post here had dated those episodes as the 30th rather > than the 29th. 2. I had posted segment titles for 11th Hour as well as the > 11th Hour's screenshot under All In's 720p posting. I thought I corrected > both these mistakes but I didn't, not sure what went wrong. I apologize > if this came off as rude or standoffish. That was not my intention at all. > I was operating on ~2 hours of sleep that day and my mind felt pretty hazy, > especially after the 8 hour work day (manual labour in the hot sun). > I don't like making excuses for poor behaviour, though. I take full > responsibility for that screw up and will try to be better going forward. I really appreciated you taking the time and real effort to communicate with me, and that you understood correctly that my feelings had been adversely affected. > ... I apologize if this came off as rude or standoffish. That was not > my intention at all. ... Thanks for your explanations. My concern about being shunned was primarily directed at BB. As to Pawpcorn, I felt he supported BB out of a sense of loyalty and solidarity. I really hadn't thought about you until I spotted you Liking that one message that I had addressed to you but that otherwise seemed to have been ignored. So that's what led me to draft that fairly lengthy message with quotes from dictionaries and Wikipedia. You will note that I hadn't addressed it to you specifically - or anyone for that matter. Everyone makes mistakes, but those of us who frequent this MSNBC Shows thread, who read its messages regularly, who posts messages, Likes, and/or PMs, constitute a defacto subgroup, who have a shared goal of sharing copies of these MSNBC shows, and similar ones, and who also probably share a similar view of one Donald J. Trump, whom most people in the media call 'The President,' who I and Keith Olbermann do not. We call him 'Trump.' Look, I understand there was a little 'dust up' involving BB and myself, over some dispute or misunderstanding that I regarded (and still do) as extremely trivial and unimportant. I have known BB since 2014, and by PM since 2015. Yes, I think I understand his point of view, even if not explicitly stated. One, he felt I criticized him for contacting The Beat anonymously via twitter about the change to the webpage that resulted in the MLs no longer getting posted there. Perhaps he even felt I was condescending. In my work life, I had two different supervisors and two different jobs who privately suggested to me that I came across that way a couple of times, even though I was totally unaware of it and it certainly wasn't intentional. Based on BB's comments, I was almost sure he had used twitter because he always does this. So I was just trying to be careful and confirm this. I was also simply trying to convey that the problem, the change, was too complex for twitter to work. For a missing or messed up episode, it's fine. If you reach the right person, they will see it and fix the issue by posting the missing or fixed episode. But to get a web page changed, that's a different order of magnitude. I also felt that BB was annoyed because he had figured out this clever and effective workaround using google, and from his point of view, a correction to the web page was superfluous, at least for our purposes. Yes, I fully understood that, and I didn't disagree, but I was trying to address two points, and they had nothing to do with BB. Pawpcorn posted a message addressed to me, and I felt he was seeking an explanation for why this change happened, which neither BB nor Pawpcorn could apparently think of a good explanation for happening, and Pawpcorn still seemed to feel should be fixed. Look folks, I mentioned having taken an Oath of office; in case it hasn't dawned on all of you, it's because of a military/government career, including working right here in Washington, DC. I have dealt with many top people in government and private industry, and after decades of experience, I have a comfort level, know how, understanding about how to contact people discretely and get things done. I have done this successfully innumerable times. I have had many secret meetings. You would be surprised at a number of the things I have done. There are people who have been arrested, prosecuted, convicted, imprisoned, and forced to not seek elective office (e.g., governor). Anyhow, I apologize for anyone getting upset by my comments, but really, for a leader of this group to decide to no longer communicate with a member who has been trying to share shows that another leader described as "important programs" and that a member has said "As an expat, this thread gives me access to the shows I would watch if I was home, and I'm forever grateful to those who keep uploading them." It seems to me that if a leader of this group was being SMART, he would realize that if he were to freeze me out, ignore all of my communications, act with total contempt, it would certainly affect my feelings (as you clearly understood LarMer) and that this could certainly interfere with my willingness to continue uploading shows. Surely this thought must have passed through a leader's mind, yet there was still a callous disregard for it. What kind of leader is that? What is more important, being miffed, being stubborn, wanting retribution, or the larger common purpose? I thought it was immature and small-minded, and as a result I lost a great deal of the high esteem I previously held for that individual. --- Unfortunately, prior to you posting your message but after I had posted mine (the one that prompted yours), BB had posted a message (about MLs), Pawpcorn had Liked it, and you had posted your message about new shows you were posting (AI, TRMS, TLW and TEH for May 31). So at THAT time, I felt that my conjecture about being shunned was correct, and I then decided to discontinue any uploads, or Likes, and further messages to the thread. However, after you posted your message addressed to me, which I liked, I was planning to reply, but then Mafketel, an Admin posted his reply. He wrote: > If there are any problems then use a pm instead of the release thread. > This way it stays clean. In the words of fmr FBI Director James Comey, I took the above as a directive, so I didn't post anything. However, I had earlier sent BB a PM (May 26) which didn't get any reply, so I went ahead and sent Mafketel a PM. I was pleasantly surprised by his reply and was relieved to learn that he had been a member of KAT and did remember us from there. Hence he understood the parties. Getting back to my revised view of this leader, I still read the messages posted by BB, Pawpcorn and yourself. I still felt that almost all of them were good messages, which were still worthy of being Liked. However, I had decided earlier to not participate, and didn't feel that I wanted to reverse course. But after getting Mafketel's reply and watching the video that Pawpcorn brought to our attention, Former Republican Federal Prosecutors Speak Out Against President Trump's Obstruction of Justice (May 30, 2019), my mind kept getting distracted by my thoughts, and I kept having to to 'rewind' the video and try to concentrate on it. I thought it was an important show, and that I should upload it (even though I still wasn't willing to Like that message); again, as I watched Deadline- White House, I had to repeatedly 'rewind' the video. This occurred while Keir Simmons was talking about what the Queen of England had said about alliances while watching footage of Trump walking with her. The level of utter disgrace Trump had exhibited with his stupid comments about Princess Meghan Markle, former American actress who I believe is of mixed African American heritage (like fmr President Obama) and London Mayor Sidiq Hhan, who is Muslim, is in a way almost unbearable. Trump is a criminal, and most of you don't even know the half of it. When the full extent of his crimes is fully uncovered and understood, including long-standing money laundering for Russian oligarchs and the Russian mafia, and his traitorous conduct with the Russians, it will become the worst scandal in American history. Watergate will pale in comparison, and this country will be shaken to its very core. It will be momentous, and I have no doubt it will come. Trust me, the signs and portents are clear and unmistakable, and are coming stronger and faster. Another important show I watched, Mueller Speaks, so far hasn't been uploaded, and I felt it should -- so I did so. The arc of history is almost upon us, we are entering an urgent but potentially dangerous period, and it will be far better for us - people of good will - to be united than to nurse petty grievances. This is an inflection point, and while it can no longer be stopped, it can be steered. Not only are lives at stake, so is our very democracy. | Hi there, I also uploaded these two new shows: Deadline- White House (2019.06.03) (hs Nicolle Wallace).mp4 48:47 MTP Daily (2019.06.03) (gs hs Steve Kornacki).mp4 43:17 Earlier I ran out of time. but like LarMer who mentioned difficult issues to contend with, I had mentioned some computer problems. What had happened was that the OS had lost connectivity to 4 of my older hard drives, two of which I use for my current work, including for the posting of shows to Yandex. Windows would start posting popup messages that a drive could not be used unless formatted first. These spurious messages would repeat endlessly, one drive after another in a loop. Not only did it prevent me from using the PC, but I also lost access to the drives for some time. However, I did browse TGx here and discovered that they have an extensive offering of good ebooks available. As a matter of fact, by the time I had finished DLing ebooks, I was exhausted. I thought this problem had been resolved, but it returned on Friday, and before it was resolved, I couldn't even boot up the machine. Windows ran its repair and couldn't figure out anything. Fortunately I had purchased and setup a backup PC for just such an emergency, and I took 3 drives downstairs with me to backup, a 4 TB and 2 thumb drives. I was able to DL several MSNBC shows for the day, pretty much complete for the daytime lineup, and I watched much of DWH and TB, either online or from a DLed copy. I later got my primary PC back up, but the large copy took over 24 hours, and since it had most of the torrent files for ones I was still seeding, I couldn't readily run uTorrent. Further, like what LarMer experienced, this was all rather exhausting. I got the shows for Friday DLed using MLs, but I didn't even bother to edit most of them, mostly just ones that I planned on watching. So it really wasn't until Sunday morning that the copy completed, and I was able to reassemble my drives to do my usual DLs, to DL my email and get uT back up. By then I still had problems to deal with and wanted to just relax and watch some shows. I had a whole bunch of shows that I had DLed that weren't edited and so weren't in a form to upload. A few only here and there had been edited. Under the circumstances, I was reassessing my plans and wasn't sure if I wanted to continue any more uploads. I didn't like the atmosphere or how I was being treated, it was very time consuming and a lot of work, and I didn't have enough time left over to watch shows and do other things I wanted to do. I probably wouldn't have bothered, but I got a bit of encouragement here and there, first from LarMer, later from Pawpcorn - who posted his message about that one video and who finished seeding one of his shows, and finally the reply from Mafketel. And then it was watching the two shows mentioned in my previous post, which led me to reflect. I knew at least two shows deserved wider views, Mueller Speaks and Former Republican Federal Prosecutors Speak Out, and I could tell from DWH more clearly where things were headed, so I created a list of shows to upload and started uploading while I continued watching the A-block of DWH. (I also had to finish editing some of the shows.) After I finished that I started writing that previous message. As to what comes after that, I may try to get a copy of TLW that includes the Handoff, and will upload the rest of yesterday's ML based shows as they get MLs posted. After that, I will see what kind (if any) feedback I get and see if I will do anymore uploads. However, I did want to emphasize that what had happened was a confluence of adversity. Anyhow, there's 2 more shows available to DL, and you can check the folder from time to time to see if there are any more you want. drhankh | |

When asked about President Trump’s tariffs impacting agriculture in the United States, Buttigieg says, “What we're seeing right now is politically motivated gamesmanship and it's coming down on your back ... A tariff is a tax. If you ever believe Republicans don't raise taxes, that's what they're doing right now." On impeaching the President, Pete Buttigieg says “First of all, I believe that the President deserves to be impeached” and that "No one ought to be above the law." This isn’t Pete Buttigieg’s first time on Hardball. Back in 2003, Buttigieg asked Congressman Dick Gephardt a question during a Hardball College Tour event at Harvard. On Al Franken's resignation from the Senate, Pete Buttigieg says, "I think it was his decision to make but I think the way that we basically held him to a higher standard than the GOP does their people has been used against us" and that he wouldn't have “applied that pressure” to force his resignation. In the lightning round, Pete Buttigieg is asked about Right-to-work laws, national service, and voting rights. Mayor Pete Buttigieg answers a question in the Hardball Town Hall about whether he supports reparations. Last edited by Pawpcorn on 2019-06-04 14:58:26
