Carl Bernstein: ‘Donald Trump For The First Time In His Life Is Cornered’
    Image error
CNN, "Reliable Sources" show, December 09, 2018
    Duration: 37 Minutes

Image errorCarl Bernstein- ‘Donald Trump For The First Time In His Life Is Cornered 2018 12 09 360p WEBRip x264-PC

The legendary Watergate reporter says the president is boxed in and the people around him know it.
    By Andy McDonald, Huffington Post

President Donald Trump is used to avoiding accountability.
Whether in his past business life or his current political one, there is always something or someone else to blame. But now that special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation is closing in, legendary journalist Carl Bernstein says Trump may finally have to face the music.

“Donald Trump for the first time in his life is cornered,”
Bernstein told host Brian Stelter on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Sunday morning.

“As a businessman, he always could bully his way out of a corner,”
Bernstein said. “He always could buy his way out, cheat his way out. He is boxed in by Mueller, and the people around him know that he is.”

Mueller and federal prosecutors in New York released documents Friday that implicate Trump in at least one crime. Specifically, they believe that he directed his former lawyer Michael Cohen to break campaign finance laws by paying off two women he’d had affairs with ― porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal ― in an effort to protect his presidential bid.

“It’s clear that Mueller is now connecting the dots between a massive obstruction intended to hide the truth about the Trump campaign, Trump, his business organization, and his family from the investigators,” Bernstein said.

Check out Bernstein’s full interview with Stelter in the video above.

    MSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence, Dec. 10, 2018, 720p

    Duration: 3:44 Minutes

Lawrence: "How is she [Maria Butina} going to live the rest of her life?"
Rachel: "Was the NRA being used as a conduit for Russian money...?""

    Image errorMSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence 2018 12 10 720p WEBRip xVID-PC

Often, the highlight of the MSNBC broadcast day is Rachel Maddow's hand-off to
Lawrence O'Donnell. You can learn a lot in the brief conversations these two
veterans have about the news of the day.

    Tonight:...
In light of the LATE BREAKING NEWS: Daily Beast: Maria Butina has agreed to
  • Reverse her pleading from NOT GUILTY, to GUILTY, and
  • "FULLY COOPERATE, NO HOLDS BARRED" in a plea deal with the prosecution...

...Lawrence and Rachel explore how (as this case progresses) this may FINALLY shed light on
WHAT HAPPENED [in terms of RUSSIAN INFLUENCE] to the NRA, in the 2016 election?
30 MILLION DOLLARS funneled to Trump... and the NRA now reportedly in dire financial straits?
Was this Russian money being (illegally) contributed to Trump's campaign?

AND(!!!) as Lawrence expresses.. "HOW is she going to live the rest of her life?" (without getting
murdered for flipping on Putin and Russia after this court case?) Will she manage to prevent
ever getting extradited back to Russia?

{I've taken the liberty of including the final minute of TRMS in this Hand-Off,
    since it supplies the exact context for Rachel and Lawrence's Hand-Off conversation.}

Image errorSchiff on Trump “The Real Prospect of Jail Time” 720p WEBRip x264-PC

On Sunday, December 9, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) appeared on CBS’s Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan to discuss the recent court filings against Michael Cohen, the implications for President Trump, the nomination of William Barr to become the next Attorney General, and whether Cohen will be called to testify.

Schiff said: “There's a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time. We have been discussing the issue of pardons that the president may offer to people or dangle in front of people. The bigger pardon question may come down the road as the next president has to determine whether to pardon Donald Trump… The idea that while people are out walking precincts and doing what they should do in campaigns, the rich and powerful seem to live by a different set of rules. So this was the argument for putting Michael Cohen in jail on these campaign violations. That argument I think was equally made with respect to Individual-1, the president of the United States.”

    Image errorColbert Mocks Trump’s Chief of Staff Search 2018 12 10 1080p WEBRip Xvid-PC

‘The Late Show’ host threw his hat in the ring for the job after everyone else seems to have turned down the president.
by Matt Wilstein, for the Daily Beast, 12.10.18 9:13 PM ET

We weren’t supposed to know about John Kelly’s departure as President Trump’s chief of staff until Monday. As The New York Times reported over the weekend, Trump agreed to let Kelly made the announcement on his own terms. But then before he could do it, the president blurted out the decision to reporters on Saturday.

Imitating Trump, Stephen Colbert said in his Late Show monologue Monday night, “I would like to humbly announce that it was me who dumped him. No matter what he tells you, that’s what happened. I’m the one who said we should see other presidents, OK? I just wasn’t that into him.”

Of course, Trump thought he had a successor for Kelly lined up in the vice president’s chief of staff, or as Colbert referred to him, “bro who’s not going to let those nerds hold a luau on campus while he’s president of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Nick Ayers.”

“It was such a done deal, they had so decided that it was going to be Ayers,” Colbert said, that Trump had already prepared a press release to make the announcement. But Ayers decided to turn the president down, a turn of events one former senior administration official described to The New York Times as a “humiliation for Mr. Trump and his adult children, an emotion that the president tries to avoid at all costs.”

“And that’s not easy,” Colbert added. “Have you seen his adult children?”

The host went on to explain that “nobody seems to want this job,” likening Trump to The Bachelor “trying to give his rose away” and getting rejected over and over again.

“So the president is in desperate need of a chief of staff and he’s got no viable candidates,” Colbert said, “which is why I’d like to take this opportunity to officially throw my hat in the ring.”

“Will I be able to control the president? No” he said. “Will we fight? Yeah. But will I bring a steady hand to a tumultuous West Wing? Also no. But no one could!”

“And no, I don’t agree with the president’s policies, and no, this won’t help the country, but I believe in my heart of hearts that this could be fun for me,” the host continued. “I mean, who would pass up the chance to spend 10 minutes on the deck of the Titanic while it’s sinking?”

    {Lawrence actually ended up using a portion of this AMAZING opening monologue, in his 12/11 show closing!! :D }

Rachel and Lawrence examine aspects of the Cohen Sentencing!

    Image errorMSNBC's Rachel's Hand-Off to Lawrence 2018 12 12 720p WEBRip xVID-PC

Often, the highlight of the MSNBC broadcast day is Rachel Maddow's hand-off to
Lawrence O'Donnell. You can learn a lot in the brief conversations these two
veterans have about the news of the day.

    Tonight:...
Lawrence and Rachel talk about how the details of the LIMITS of what and how Cohen was
willing to COOPERATE with the SDNY... raises a LOT of questions about what Cohen was
willing to HIDE, in knowing the result would be around 3 years in prison!

The implications are that the additional hidden criminal activity would have involved either
members of his family, or OTHER people he didn't wish to expose to criminal prosecution,
or ADDITIONAL CRIMES that HE had committed (which would have resulted in even MORE
    time spent in prison)!

He CLEARLY had no qualms about revealing EVERYTHING he knew, about Trump.

Lawrence closes by saying that we'll "just have to be patient!"
...Rachel shows that being "patient" is not one of her strong suits... :P
