What are the recommended image hosting websites to upload screenshots to? I was usually uploading to http://freeimage.host, but it looks like down, at least now...

Hi all!

I'm trying to consolidate my torrent upload folders under a single "Torrents" folder. I have several folders that I need to move but presume if I do move them the torrents will no longer work? (as the original .torrent file points to that location?) 🤔

Is anyone able to tell me how to move the folders without stuffing up the torrents? Or do I need to delete the original torrent from TGx, move the folders, then create new torrents with the new folder location?

Using uTorrent 3.5.5

Cheers + TIA 😎ðŸ‘

I'm not sure if you still have this problem after receiving guidance from the great and powerful Soup:_moderator:
But if so, you should be able to go into your client settings and change the path to your torrents.

A bit unsure how to do that!
Right clicking on the individual torrent there's a settings "Advanced" > "Set Download Location" which when clicked goes to where the files are now. I presume I can move the files then use that to identify the new folder location?

There's another "Advanced" > "Set Destination Name" but that seem to just bring up a prompt to change the torrent name within uTorrent.

I think the 1st one might be the go! I suppose I can try it and if torrent stops working I can put it back to where it was>

Thoughts?

Different clients have different settings. Most clients have a user forum, it might be prudent to check into that.

What I would do, is since your files seem to be well seeded is delete the files in the locations on your drive (NOT on Tgx) that you want to move by removing them from your client (Best way to do this is to use the client delete and include the data). Then change the save location of downloaded (in advance settings) files to the place you want them. Then simply download them from the site again. That will point your client to the new saved locations.:_pirate

Mmmmmm I'm a bit confused by that. If I delete .torrent and data, then the torrent won't be in my client, so I wouldn't be able to right click > advanced > change location? Or are you talking preferences > directories > changing the default save directory? If the latter then all my future downloads will go there?
Thanks for the reply

This might help

Whatever you do, I suggest backing up your existing download folder in another location so you easy restore if it all goes belly up

Ok seems I'm not explaining myself properly. I know how to change my default download directory ie when I download a torrent, this is where the downloaded files go!

What I want to do is....I have several torrents that I created and uploaded to TGx. The files for these torrents are in folders in the root directory of a drive where I keep my torrent files. I want to move those folders to make them sub-folders of a folder called "My Torrents". I presume if I do this the torrents will stop working.
Can I do this and point uTorrent at the new directory location, or do I need to create a new torrent for the new location?

Cheers

Yes I was talking about changing the default directory for all your downloads. But as RB mentioned you definitely need to back up the folder before you do it in case you need to restore them.

Yes

If you put your torrents into sub-folders of your main download folder they will stop seeding and your torrent
client will if you click recheck start downloading as it will not be able to see it's data.
If you try and create a new torrent from a sub-folder of your download folder the torrent will recreate that
folder structure with people that download your torrent. I don't advise doing this as it's inviting problems.

In the normal course of things you will find it impossible to seed all your torrents all the time. I have produced
somewhere in the region of 1500 torrents in the last 9 years, I seed most of the ones in the last year though
a couple seedboxes and the rest I respond to reseed requests I receive. I do have back ups of all my torrents
in other folders and swap the data files and the torrent file into the download folder if needed for reseed.

Almost all clients will allow you to do this.
Some have a feature to move the files while they are still running (transmission for example).
In others, you need to stop the torrent, manually move the files, change the location of the torrent in your client, then restart it.
[ You may also need to force verify/recheck it ].

Cheers mate, I'm a little scared but might give it a crack! Worst scenario if they stuff up I delete the .torrents and add them as new torrents

During the uploading of a new torrent and before any peer gets a complete copy I sometimes notice in the site torrent stats that there are more than one (myself) seeder (see the image below). How is that possible since noone except me has a complete copy at that point?

PS. i am using Super seeding mode in QB until one peer gets a complete copy

Image error

Easy to re-create....when you have your upload in your client with working trackers, you can right click on the upload and select "update tracker stats"....you will then get some trackers adding you to your total:_facepalm...1+1 = 2 and so on.....try it out to see:_pirate

It can also be the number of people currently downloading your upload who ARE seeding back....34 leeching/downloading and 3 + you sharing/seeding...?:_pirate

what is the best/most recommended way to "correct" a torrent? e.g. replace a corrupted episode in a full TV season?

There is no way to correct or edit a torrent in that way.
You have to create a new .torrent with the fixed file and then re upload here.

If I got you correctly, You meant a torrent? Obviously uploaded torrent? Otherwise, you might say folder? Then answer is....

No, there is no option to replace any file from a torrent that uploaded, all you need to do is to Trash, and re-upload it by fixing it.

Pardon, if I get you wrong!
