| so ive just got myself a mini pc the most powerful one i could find it has intel i9 14 cores & 20 threads and 6TB SSD (Added myself) its small dont use much power and completely silent (What i wanted) plan is to use it as seeding machine and to put a queue of stuff to encode issue is its on windows 11 (im new to it) and some automatic updates make it restart itself if unattended so if im out or asleep restarting will put a stop to everything thats being worked on is there a simple way to stop it from doing a automatic restart? only option is to set to restart on non office hours theres a option to delay updates for week to five weeks but no option to just do a check then ask if you want to install or not like earlier windows | |

| Before proceeding; wise to make a backup just in case: If your only asking how to stop windows restarting after an update, then not too sure, but if u want an easy way to turn off windows updates and back on heres 2: Whilst there is O&O Shutup (free), it is a bit annoying as it sets tons of options and a hassle to go thu which does have ability to turn on and off windows updates, but chances are it will want to change a bunch of other stuff too which you may not want. Currently i prefer and use a freeware tool called Winaero Tweaker. It should be free of malware and virus` as it features as a review on https://www.pcworld.com/article/411404/how-to-customize-your-windows-pc-with-winaero-tweaker.html If still in doubt u can block it with firewall, run malware tests and virus scanner. Tho should be safe. I find it`s the easiest to use+ it been around for years; if you install once launched, just type updates in the quick find search box and you can toggle windows update behaviour to let you turn off updates with a simple tick.( you can turn them back on too with same method). No other messing is required. Another handy feature is you can restore the right click function to see all the options of a file or the desktop, instead of Win11`s basic right click then clicking and additional show more options. I dont really mess with the other settings other than those two, but if u do choose to; best make a backup of system regardless Perhaps someone has a different method, as i suspect you looking for options within Win 11 without the use of a third party tool of which there maybe a method but most likey requires messing around with the registry. | |

| Search for Chris titus tech debloat script. hes a great guy and has a script that will postpone reboots for I think 21 days or something like that. I just deal with the reboots since im using my machine fairly often to start with. but his script is great for debloating win 10 and 11 and trims the proccess way down in a safe way. | |

| Pause updates within windows update settings maybe your best option as this will stop it from updating and rebooting. Then i think once u trigger a manual update you can pause updates again which will reset the time frame to longer etc. Probably check updates every day manually then set it to pause each time, that way you can go out, sleep without fear of system rebooting. | |

| pretty much what reaper said. im still using 10. but i remember in the early days of 10, you had to go into the reg to do that. it seems that after this long m$ still doesnt bother to listen or care what people want lol. just searched my settings and theres still no simpler option | |
