I doubt many people use Rollback RX Home but in my opinion is the one of the best programs ever!
What it is supposed to do it replace Windows crappy system restore by taking system snapshots (works in seconds) acting like a time machine, any problems u can go back to an earlier snapshot a restore the sytem exactly like it was to a previous date with a quick reboot. Great for time limited software to use over and over again or if your PC messes up.

When i got my Micro PC recently with Win10. I installed all my regular programs that i use on my main desktop Win 7, but made the mistake of thinking i should update some of my programs. I went to the Rollback RX home page to see of there was an updated version, sure enough there was however has now been discontinued but still available to download.

On Installing it seemed ok looked nicer but they had removed a key feature which i used alot. Non the less still looked usuable and thought i could may get used to it. After a few days I decided to uninstall it .On unistalling it asked me if i would like to Rollback to a time before i had installed Rollback Home to which i chose yes. However the program lied and only rolled it back to a couple of days prior! :_facepalm Tho annoyed  It wasnt a big issue as the PC was still in good health or so i thought... starting Windows control panel; Windows  gave me a warning pop up message that it could not locate 7zip which was odd as i had installed 7zip after the said rollback & should not be there nor should windows 10 be aware that 7z was previously installed and why give a pop up in the control panel?!!?:_bad

Whilst i do usually keep a macrium disc image I`ve never had to use on it on my desktop PC (Win7) as the older RX Rollback home always did a great job and just plain forgot to make one for Win10 at the time.
Anyways decided to reinstall windows 10 on the Micro PC and install the much older 2016 RX Rollback Home which i love. Needless to say the Micro PC runs great now, just wish i had never bothered with the updated RX Rollback Home, I can see why it discontinued they self sabotaged it real bad.

Ironically i own the paid one also from many years ago and get lifetime free updates  but cant be bothered to install as i would have to send them an e-mail to get updated user approval. I just lazy and use the Free 2016 one, which is  more or less the same but with fewer snapshots capabilities. This is why they sabotaged the new one i reckon as it was too good! A cheap ploy for folks to shell out cash on the paid one.

If anyone is wondering which  version works well it is version 10.4 i dont know about the later ones but for sure version 11 sucks.
Lesson here is sometimes it is better not to update anything and stick with the older version...:_love

**edit
Very important if anyone decides to install this, as i found out today putting it on a family members laptop.. Goto Bios first and make sure SECURE BOOT IS DISABLED  before the install. Whilst it is offically Windows approved autheti-code, certain manufacturers havent ensured for their Bios which could stop  PC from booting.

**edit 2
after a windows feature update windows reset the bios somehow back to secure boot and messed up dad`s laptop. You would have to uninstall rollback rx before this feature update so it seems. and then have to disable secure boot again then re-install rollback rx. Always make a drive backup !

I`m gonna add Win10 to this list of self sabotagers.
This install i have of Win10 is freshly installed, i only did windows updates and on a restart it wanted to check files and repair stuck at 100%, restarting fixed it but if i goto manually scan disc to repair it sticks again until restarted. On investigating the issue online i tried DISM a command-line tool that is used to solve performance and start-up issues on PC, it got to 20% only to get "error 2" on investigating further to fix this new error i tried sfc/scannow in the command prompt which runs for a bit and tells me it has found corrupted files it cant fix! I tried various website recommendations such as turn off anti-virus all to no avail.
Then Win10 offers me to install win11 so i think great maybe it will fix the old stuff, only to discover an endless loop of downloading installing failed to install. Anyways this time i used my recovery image to before a particular windows update and checkdisk repair works again so not even gonna attempt to run DISM or sfc/scannow. Needless to say I`ve chosen to disable windows updates from now on and never wish to update windows ever again!!

**edit
It has been a few weeks since i wrote above but have now discovered that DISM does in fact work but u have to be ONLINE and connected to the internet for it to work! it was able to clean the image health and in safe mode sfc/scannow works. Yep i was offline when trying it the first times, tho how am i supposed to know? as it never asks to have internet connection!!
Windows updates are stilll broken tho means that every user needs to know how to use command prompt to fix windows updates, why is windows not smart enough to update DISM health? its plain nuts!
