  Best App to stop Win10 Spying?

Hi, i`ve only recently started using win10 as it came with my mini PC (for the most part i still using win7 on my other deskop PC)
I know theres a bunch of good free stop win10 spying apps ike O&O ShutUp10 etc but was wondering which ones you would recommend.

Ones ive tried so far was "Blackbird" as it was a one click do all kind of program but after using it i was unable to access some of my control panel settings like setting the size of the mouse pointer!

The one i`m using now is called "destroy all windows 10 spying 1.0.2.0" seems ok i downloaded it from Majorgeeks however i`m a little wary as it contained trojans which i understand is probably ok as a false postive? Majorgeeks is trustworthy? right?. I saw no comment about it on the page or their forum tho they seem to be discussing an older version. + Also it hasnt been updated since 2019 and the makers page is gone. Blackbird also came up as a trojan or virus tho is explained on their website.

I`m thinking of restoring my baseline snapshot to before i installed it and try another "Stop win10 spying app" Any recommendations?
Ideally one without tons of stuff to checkmark.
I`ve looked online but there`s too many programs out there that do it. It would help if u can help to narrow it down abit Thxs.

I have used O&O ShutUp 10 successfully on a few notebooks and its been working great. Also can create a profile and save your settings for another system.

Think its Freeware. oo-software.com/en/shutup10

I did a lot manually at first but was still getting some annoying popups about updates or security and this shut them down completely.

Other than that I use CCcleaner to delete startup entries I dont want, and I stop some services I dont need. If you want total removal of any  privacy/governmen spying you probaly should install Linux.

I got alot of paid programs & old CD games, whilst i know i can use wine, proton etc it is alot of hassle. The windows spying thing already has tons of anti win10 spying programs available might as well use them. I`ve used various Linux in the past. Tho i`m sure there alot of improvements since. The create profile and save would be useful as i regularly Rollback to an earlier snapshot  for updates, and would have to run win10 spying everytime,  thats why i asked about one with less options for a one click solution. thxs i`ll take a look.

Yep, it is a handy tool i use it for that. Also it worth mentioning to block CCleaner in your firewall as the later versions collect data.

I have never heard of O&O software, before so I checked it out.

Caution. When O&O Appbuster askes: "If you want to make a system backup" you should answer yes.
Just before you make any changes, only the first time O&O Appbuster askes .
So if you remove something and you wish later that you had not removed it, you can system
restore and bring the old removed apps back.

I hate to be that wiseguy but seriously... if you haven't done so within the last 2-3 years, check out any GNU+Linux distro. Ubuntu, Linux Mint, PClinuxOS, Elementary, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Garuda or some other Arch Linux. Things are really smooth and just work these days.

I'm not sure there's anything you can do to fully, permanently disable all the garbage in Win10. Not to mention that at the end of the day you still have to deal with all the other problems. I tried it briefly. No thanks! Unstable, slow, and the way it handles updates is anything but convenient.
Running GNU+Linux allows me to have so much control over everything. *shrug*
Check out VenToy and throw an ISO on a flash drive to test things out. Can't hurt, just costs <1hr.

hmm, i not say Linux not good. i use ubuntu and mint for 6 years. sadly are lots of things you cannot do with linux, so i reinstall windows, 96% of pc's use windows. for my work i need windows, it's ok, very fast, if you know how to work with

I use Windows 10 only for madVRhdrMeasure165 and foobar, with the freeware privacy tools:
admin edit: links removed, no outside links please

Yeh i had to use Blackbird recently ( tho has a false postive). The O&O shutup 10 isnt so good as even tho i turned off windows updates windows updates were still trying to install, so use Blackbird then run shutup10. The only problem i`ve found is that Microsoft edge still updates in the background without my permission. Would love to stop that if anyone has any ideas. Does W10privacy.de or Destroy Windows 10 Spying do that? Blackbird wont and neither will shutup. Darn Microsoft edge; dont even use it, and seems it intergrated deep into windows these days.

I found this on the Microsoft website:

I understand that you want to stop Edge's automatic updates
Initially I recommend that you access the Task Manager
Press together the keys: Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Click Initialize
Disable the programs: Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Edge Update
Restart the PC
Now Edge should not update automatically

And Windows 10 Privacy do have also a tab for uninstalling Edge.

I Personally use a lightweight modded version of windows 10 That takes only 1.1Gb of space and has the following removed:

All windows bloatware apps
Windows firewall (GUI)
Windows defender
Windows update
Windows backup
Cortana.
I can PM any one a link if you wish

Linux is still my go to OS. I Use 'Bodhi linux' flavor

How on Earth do you completely disable or uninstall Windows Update? I didn't think that was possible. if there's a way to do that (completely  being the operative word), please PM me!
