Dust bowl, witches, guitar evangelists, 50’s movies and Nina Simone are themes when blues and roots artist Daniel Eriksen releases his 10th album. The album is produced by renowned Gøran Grini, who has previously produced wonderful albums by Chip Taylor, Tommy Tokyo and Paal Flaata. Special guest is Joachim Cooder with his electric mbira.
Daniel Eriksen has toured relentlessly for almost 30 years with his distinctive style of blues and roots music. Eriksen has been widely acknowledged both for his live performances, and his critically acclaimed album releases. Two of his albums have won the prestigious Spellemann Award (Norwegian Grammy).
“There’ll Be A Time When The Sun Will Refuse To Shine” is Eriksen’s 10th. release and one where his music has been filtered through the
creative and “filmatic” mind of producer Gøran Grini.
Special guest with his unusual electric mbira instruments, is Joachim Cooder. Joachim is an exciting musician and experienced producer, and he and his father Ry Cooder has produced fine albums by Mavis Staples, Sam Outlaw and Buena Vista Social Club.
Other fine contributors on the album are Richard Gjems on harmonica, Christian Skaugen on steel guitar, Viktor Wilhelmsen on guitar, Stig Sjøstrøm on percussion and producer and multi instrumentalist Gøran Grini on several instruments.
