Like the 2012 version, it is very Christmassy (that's a real word, I googled it).

This show is MUCH BETTER than it's IMDB rating 6.9 indicates. It starts out better than that, then gets really good, so give it a chance (more on this below).

The show started slow, spent most of Season 1 in the ratings range 7.5 - 8.0, with one episode hitting 8.1.

Season 2 was consistently above 8.0, aside from the 7.1 S02E01.
