Decent cam quality. No shadowy figures in the screen. Video 6, Audio 6. The main problem is the included subtitles for the parts that the indians are speaking is in a foreign language. I don't know which language. It probably helps to understand the plot. I'm an hour in and they just started another indian scene so I am going to quit and wait for something that I can understand. |
Indian language translated with russian hardcoded subtitles. |
"As of November 25, 2024, Horizon An American Saga Chapter 1 is available on HBO Max." |
Great! I can watch it and celebrate Trump's victory over Loopy Joe all in one month!! |
Guest 2041... not so sure thats something we should be celebrating |
The best movie he ever did and will ever do is Dances With Wolves. |
Gonna wait for the 8k rip 10 years from now when the technology comes out. No spoilers please for at least 10 years. Thank you. BTW, I'm serious. |
I'm gonna wait for 32K in 20 years. 8K sucks. |
im not a fan of 4k, looks a little cartoonish. to much detail, ive watched quite a few shows/movies switching back and forth between 4k and 1080. 4k does pop and looks nice, just not a fan, 1080 looks better all around in my opinion. the human eye see's in 1080 |
4K provides more detail. The pixel density the human eye can perceive (depending on your visions, TV size and seating distance), DEFINITELY benefits from 4K. HDR is equally important. If a picture looks poor, your TV is likely using the wrong mode, look for a cinema or director's option. |
I love Costner! Like Waterworld, The Postman, Dances With Wolves (one of my favorites), The Untouchables, Etc. almost everything he's done! But even if your Helen Keller you know he's not the greatest actor! He's really great at vanilla wood characters like in: Dances With Wolves and The Untouchables and Yellowstone. Anything else I like just for the awesome campiness/cult classicness of them. Just watch his Robin Hood, at the pinnacle moment when Robin just cut the Sheriff Of Nottingham's face with the knife that he (The Sheriff) had given to Maid Marion as a present. Before he jumps away from him says: "And then it begins" He delivers that line like he's ordering coffee. "and then can you give me a decaf". |
I watched in the theater last night. The way the story is presented is difficult to watch and follow at times. This would be much better as a TV series rather than the long drawn out movie format. I was also put off by the several minutes of flash/forward of the upcoming chapters for the future movies. I will not be heading to the theater for the remaining films. |
Kevin Costner is trying to ride the Taylor Sheridan wave of success, but he hasn't a clue how to write a decent story, doesn't know how to direct and can only pull off depicting one dimensional characters....He should have stuck with 'Yellowstone' instead of returning to his self indulgent bullsh*&t... |
Costner was doing cowboy when Sheridan was wearing diapers. i.e Dances with Wolves (7 academy awards), Hatfields and McCoys, Open Range. |
youngster do some homework - you know not what you speak of lets not forget aide from his other cowboy movie accomplishments Silverado 1985 Taylor Sheridan was only 15 |
I'm hungry for another great Western. The best of the most recent bunch was Old Henry (but that was in 2021). The greatest of all time come from Sergio Leone, with only Eastwood's 'Unforgiven' scaling the same heights. |
This the same Kevin Costner that had a smile when he shook hands with murderous dictator Fidel Castor? |
Don't celebrities shake hands with US presidents? Each and every one of them is in a league that none other can match or hope to be a member of. Does no good to see history with blinders on. |
