R.I.P. Robert, what a great guitarist he was. That tone!
I really hope the proper reissue is in the works, this album needs to be heard.

This album showed up on Spotify in the last few days with (SST/Cesstone copyright identification);
perhaps physical copies of the new pressing will start to become a bit more widely available in the weeks ahead?

FYI the folks at SST have just done a 2022 repress.

My brother graciously let me borrow his copy of this but there's a significant warp
so can't play A1 or B1 w/out the cart jumping. Repress repress repress!

One of the OG members of the band gifted my friend Bob a Stains shirt. He lived down the street from my friend
in Boyle Heights. Lucky bastard. Anyway, love this band, one of the many reasons I am proud to say I was born and raised in the hood!

I purchased the Stains LP direct from SST mail order around 1988 or ‘89. I paid about $12 for a sealed copy.
My copy has the additional matrix numbers of ‘S-18688’ on the runout grooves. Also my copy has the more ‘flat’
inner labels and not the thicker ring around the perimeter. Also, the inside cover is white and not thick cardboard.
However, my vinyl is translucent black when held to the light. Anyway, my conclusion according to the info on Discogs
is that my copy is 2nd press which correlates with getting a sealed copy in the late 80’s. I doubt there were any first press
sealed copies by the time I purchased it. Whether Greg Ginn informed anyone about a second pressing remains a mystery I guess.

Just curious- Is the Stains 1983 first press the rarest SST, besides Nervous Breakdown?

Is Greg Ginn really that shitty of a person? Christ. Hope this gets repressed, great stuff.

This one is painful for me as I had a mint copy only played once in original shrink-wrap vanish (with a box of about
50 other great rare albums when I moved a few years ago). I only realized they were gone recently.
Make sure to inventory your stuff before you hand it to a moving company!
