The Animal Kingdom, film diretto da Thomas Cailley, racconta come l'uomo nel tempo abbia iniziato mostrare un processo di mutazione, che lo ha portato a sviluppare elementi vicini ad alcune specie animali. Dopo due anni dalla manifestazione delle prime mutazioni da uomo ad animale, la società ha iniziato ad adattarsi a questo cambiamento, prendendosi cura delle "creature" in nuovi centri socializzati.
Quando un convoglio, che trasporta questi ibridi, subisce un incidente, le creature si disperdono nell'ambiente circostante, portando un padre e un figlio a vivere una straordinaria avventura.
