The US paved the way for others to separate peacefully. Also, the British Empire was taxing the life out of US, no doubt there it's not a perfect society but if they didn't separate they'd have been heavily suppressed under British rule and not only wouldn't have become the world's super power but God only knows what atrocities the Brits would've committed in the world without being taken down a notch. |
Oh the irony of a show celebrating the war of independence. Just think if they'd stayed part of the British Empire they would have been required to abolish slavery in 1833, there likely would have been no civil war (the most fatal war in US history) and the country would not have been riven with race issues which have destroyed any possibility of a cohesive society for the foreseeable future. They would have been far better off if they had stayed part of the Empire as Canada and Australia did and left once they built their own fully fledged society. Instead they the US was born prematurely with disfigurements and even today still has major flaws not least of which is it racist nature. It seems every time the America initiate military action it causes more problems than it resolves (Independence, Civil War, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan) PS And if you want to blame anyone for such views blame the liberal movement in the US as they have taken great pleasure over the years in exposing just how flawed and corrupted American society is. Ill give what will undoubtedly be a surreal fantasy a miss..... |
That's an interesting take...and as a Brit, I sometimes wonder what would have happened, BUT, without 1776, there wouldn't have been a French revolution, Britain might have dominated the world for far longer. The US is an imperfect society, but others have just as many flaws.. In anycase thanks for U/L this, I will wa |
It's easy to say look at how Canada and Australia separated but that's after the US separating smashed the tight throttling grip of the BE for them and many other countries that would've been oppressed to oblivion. India for example wouldn't have been able to free itself from the BE's tyranny |
Blame the liberals because they EXPOSE the flaws and corruption? Wow. I was with you right up to that last statement. Take a look at the educational disparity between the left and right in this country. Oh, right, you've been told not to trust scientists or the education system. How convenient. |
