Description
Hello folks, long time no talk. I been busy, but here we go with the first of another batch of quality book uploads.

You know who Howard Marks is?  If you are British, chances are you do.  America?  I couldn't say.Let's not forget Canada, Oz and NZ.

Anyway, Howard Marks was (likely not anymore), Britain's largest convicted marijuana smuggler.  He got popped for the import of 50 tons of Colombian dope into the UK via a remote Scottish coastline, with the help of the Tafficante crime family in Florida.

They had him bang to rights, but he got off.  He pleaded in court that he was working undercover for MI6.  An outlandish, but from his Oxford educated lips a believable tale.  The Jury bought it and he walked.  Much to the chagrin of the British establishment.

Finally, the DEA grabbed him, claiming he imported 25 tons of hashish into the USA.  25 years, that's a year per ton.  You have to hand it to America.

Here we go then.  The first of many Howard Marks books I am about to serve up.  His Autobiography.  A fantastic read.

Here we go with the obligatory Amazon blurb....

Author

During the mid-1980s, Howard Marks had 43 aliases, 89 phone lines, and owned 25 companies throughout the world. Whether bars, recording studios, or offshore banks, all were money-laundering vehicles serving his core activity: dope dealing.

Marks began to deal small amounts of hashish while doing a postgraduate philosophy course at Oxford, and soon he was moving much larger quantities into Europe and into America. The academic life began to lose its allure. At the height of his career, he was smuggling consignments of up to 50 tons from Pakistan and Thailand to America and Canada and had contact with organisations as diverse as MI6, the CIA, the IRA, and the Mafia. Numerous newspaper profiles, books, and television documentaries have been devoted to Howard Mark's life. Touched with humour, charm, and candour, Mr Nice is his own extraordinary story.
