A drama set on New Year's Eve 1999 in a luxurious Swiss hotel where the lives of hotel workers and various guests get intertwined.
The Palace, film diretto da Roman Polanski, è un dramma ambientato il 31 dicembre 1999.
Il Palace Hotel, è un albergo di gran lusso situato all'interno di un castello degli inizi del Novecento immerso nelle montagne svizzere. La struttura ricorda un luogo fiabesco completamente ricoperto dalla neve.
Per il Capodanno 2000, l’hotel si prepara ad accogliere ospiti ricchi ed eccentrici che si aspettano di trascorrere il veglione più straordinario della loro vita. Un passaggio al nuovo millennio indimenticabile.
Ad assicurare queste altissime aspettative ci sono Hansueli (Oliver Masucci), dirigente dell’albergo, e il suo nutrito staff di camerieri, facchini, cuochi e receptionist. Tutto viene curato e preparato nel dettaglio e con minuzia, ogni richiesta e vizio degli illustri ospiti deve essere soddisfatto alla perfezione.
Ma l’assurdità e l’imprevedibile degrado che raggiungeranno la festa e i suoi partecipanti, sono fattori del tutto imprevedibili

 | This brilliant and masterful comedy/farce is an instant classic that can be played for many New Year's Eves to come. It is a vintage Polanski movie and all acting, storytelling and cinematography are on a high level. Also this is a true international movie that can be enjoyed by many and so it is unifying. This movie contains no nudity but it may still shock you (mildly). Movie: five stars out of five. Big thanks to all involved: it really gave me a good time. |
