Plot:
In 1858, a bounty hunter named Schultz seeks out a slave named Django and buys him because he needs him to find some men he is looking for. After finding them, Django wants to find his wife, Broomhilda, who along with him were sold separately by his former owner for trying to escape. Schultz offers to help him if he chooses to stay with him and be his partner. Eventually they learn that she was sold to a plantation in Mississippi. Knowing they can't just go in and say they want her, they come up with a plan so that the owner will welcome them into his home and they can find a way.

Description
wide
Ai upscaled from a quality 1080p bluray source, then increased framerate to 60fps via TensorRT Rife v4.12.
English audio, English and Spanish subtitles included.

TensorRT RIFE motion interpolation is a combination of TensorRT and RIFE that enables real-time video frame interpolation with high quality. It is a TensorRT plugin for Vapoursynth, a video processing framework, that can be used for both transcoding and real-time playback modes. The interpolation quality, performance, and memory usage are determined by the AI model used. Model 4.6 provides higher quality but is slower than model 4.4, which requires less memory.

The frame rate of a film is the number of still images that are displayed per second to create the illusion of motion. The higher the frame rate, the smoother the playback, and the more realistic the motion appears. Here are some differences between 24, 30, 48, 60FPS in movies:

24 FPS: This is the standard frame rate for movies. It is good for creating a cinematic experience and is not suitable for gaming. However, it can appear choppy during fast-paced action scenes.

30 FPS: This frame rate is commonly used in television broadcasts and is suitable for creating a smooth and natural-looking video.

48 FPS: This frame rate is used in some movies to create a more immersive and realistic experience. It provides smoother playback and is ideal for action-packed scenes.

60 FPS: This is the standard frame rate for video playback and has been the standard for more than 30 years. It provides a smooth and comfortable viewing experience.

avatarThank you, always nice to hear from a likeminded individual! Stoked that you enjoy 60fps as much as I do! Although this isn’t an official request, you can expect to see the Death Race movies AI-upscaled and smoothed out in the near future! Thank you for the kind words and inspiration!!:_:D

avatarThank you Chesley96 for making this release! The experience while watching is very good, worth my third time watching this again! :)

I'm curious about your process of transforming the movie from its original source to this fine release. I knew you're using SVP with RIFE, but it seems there's more than blindly using the AI. Also, what is your thought of AV1? Do you think it can help to lower down the file size while still maintaining the similar quality?

avatarI think I can deduce your encoding settings from your description & MediaInfo. Might give it a try myself next time, plus more reading need to be done from my part. I'm now curious about your setup, what kind of hardware you use to speed up the encoding process & how long usually it takes for one release.

avatarHello baghded! Thank you for commenting! I first grab the best quality source I can find, from there I process through Topaz using varying settings, depending on the quality of the source. I then take the ai upscaled or enhanced file and run it through SVP 4 PRO using TensorRT RIFE. In both apps bitrate is set to 30MBs

avatarCurrently I am using a water-cooled i5 8600k @5Ghz with 16gb DDR4 4133MHz RAM and a RTX 3080 water-cooled. About to have a MSI MEG z790 MOBO with a 14900k and 48GB of 7200 DDR5 RAM in the next few days, can't wait for it all to arrive! Takes an average of 14 or so hours for both processes! You can PM me if you want :)

avatarHave you ever gone frame by frame in fast motion scenes or scene changes and looked at the mess he's created? AI simply can't create and animate new frames when it's not a human ok. Actors faces, body parts, objects are morphed into shapes that don't resemble true life. Faces are squished, hands mangled, etc etc.

avatarYou're delusional, then, Chesley. You went from doubling the frame rate from 24 to 48 and getting complaints, to then taking that same 24 and now making it even worse at 60.

avatarYou are delusional, or more likely plain ignorant, if you think I give a shit about what you or any other person that’s against motion interpolation thinks. To me and many others, it's much better at 60. I know you are butthurt about that fact, but IDGAF. Cry to someone else.

avatarPlain ignorant? lol Says the guy who thinks films are soap operas and went from telling everyone 48fps was the to go and then went to 90fps but realized it was a mess so then started doing everything at 60fps and totally IGNORED all the advice about cinematic motion and the fact that your source files are 24 frames.
by chesley96:_trusted_uploader::_male:
    on 2024-01-04 07:57:02
avatarI chose 48fps not because I think it is better than 60, or even 90 fps. 120fps would be ideal, but it's less compatible. 90fps is just an odd one, but from a PC with a 55' 120hz 4k tv connected, it plays great. I settled on 60fps due to a much higher compatibility with everyone's unique setups. So, you're welcome!:_;)

avatarNo but, you need to check your rips. Go through them frame by frame in fast motion scenes and look at the mess your AI frame doubling has created. You are ruining the movies you upload here. Congrats.

avatarI didn't mess with the colors. Ai might have improved the color but of that I am uncertain. @Dreamstate - This is the best motion interpolation software I have discovered. It's much better than any TV's built in motion smoothing methods IMHO. It is what I use and am sharing with those who enjoy it as much as I do.
