RG is one of the little few comedians who are brilliant aka highly intelligent. Of course that makes you think BEFORE you laugh so if you are bit slow (pun intended!) you might have problems resonating with RG. |
Actually, it's just the opposite. In fact, I don't think I heard him say "brilliant" at all in this show. |
Fantastically funny...rips apart most of the stupid things goin on atm brilliantly V 9 A 9 |
Note: I've only heard of Ricky Gervais before but I haven't actually seen anything of his ever. I only watched this because of online critiques of Dave Chappelle's The Dreamer mentioning this Ricky Gervais special. The first 11 minutes felt more like a preachy monologue to me than a comedy show and didn't get any laughs out of me. After that I had plenty of laughs though. In this special you get to hear about winning free puppies, the problem for 10 million people in China, funeral promises, nine toilets, and much more I don't want to say without revealing any spoilers. The last ten minutes introduced me to a website I didn't even know existed before. Content wise I'd rate this a 4 out of 5. |
So sad to see someone who had the intelligence and talent has fallen to a state where laugh tracks are required to sell their performance piece. |
Still 99% better than new Chapelle special :P |
RIcky isn't funny any more. Much of his version of facts are wrong including average life span of this current generation. While I wasn't offended at anything he said, he really failed to me make laugh. At best, a chuckle here and their. Pity cuz RG is only just a few years older than me. If I paid to see him, I'd be upset. |
It's a show of jokes, not a professor's lecture. Doesn't need to be accurate. Just like " a horse walks into a bar"... |
I remember when Robin Williams stopped being crazy funny because he had got painfully serious, a clue he was in a lot of physical and mentally pain. RG is NOT like that! *see my other comment |
