Watched it. Mild-mannered Walden Dean is a courtroom stenographer, he witnesses all sorts of detestable people who commit horrendous crimes – often these criminals get off on technicalities. After he is given life-altering medical news, repressed anger from within him emerges and he decides to administer justice. It's a revenge story that incorporates elements of Of Mice and Men, Falling Down, and is infused with a touch of Misery. The problem with the film is the constantly changing tone. The film starts off as a comedy and subsequently delves into brutal dark scenes. Many of the darker scenes would be improved if they were punctuated with ominous music to amplify the overall tone. The subpar supporting cast doesn't provide any assistance, nor does the script. Most of the dialogue from the supporting cast comes across as forced, unpolished – notably West and Raymonde.
