I Came — I Saw — I Wondered by John Russell Fearn EPUB
An imaginative satire, telling of a benign Martian explorer who comes to Earth to observe humanity, and who is amazed to discover how Hollywood films and popular literature have engendered an irrational xenophobia and hatred of alien visitors.
Moviebuff comment from Amazon:
I remembered reading this story when I was a pre-teen and liked it very much. When I came across the Kindle version of it, I had to have it so I could read it again. It did not disappoint. It's just as good now as it was then. This is not your typical alien invader story. In this story an alien anthropologist comes to Earth in a homemade spacecraft. He crashlands and is then taken in by a writer and his wife living in the English countryside. Once he learns the language and is able to communicate with his hosts, they teach him different things about Earth and its people. The story is at times heart-warming, hilarious and also thought-provoking. Although this was written many decades ago, some of the social aspects it touches upon are still relevant to this day. I'm glad I found this book again!
