D.H. Lawrence's John Thomas & Lady Jane According To Spike Milligan by Spike Milligan PDF
John Thomas And Lady Jane was the second of D.H. Lawrence's three very different versions of Lady Chatterley, and Spike's masterful retelling is both hilarious and gripping (especially round the nethers).
It is thge steamiest and tenderest version, the hottest and the chilliest (well you would be chilly if you spent hours starkers jumping about in the rain). It is full of stirring excitement, from the ping of elastic down in t'woods, amd disgusting goings-on in chicken, to a hundred amazing things you can do with a bluebell.
Among startling revelations not to be found elsewhere, Lady Chatterley discovers what lurks under the handsome gamekeeper's moustache (no teeth) and some of his more creative hobbies, like making clockwork tortoises. In this version, the gamekeeper, who for some reason has changed his name to Soames, becomes rather tender after all the cavorting with milady. Some will think he gets a bit uppity too, but in the end he's certainly squashed (he's run over by a bus).
