Odd story culled from the Italian inquisition's files.
A 16th-century miller's enquiring mind led him to develop his own cosmology:
'All was chaos, that is, earth, air, water and fire were mixed together, and out
of that bulk a mass formed - just as cheese is made out of milk - and worms
appeared in it, and these were the angels. And the greatest of the worms was God."
Half a good idea .. sadly for him, the inquisition could not make him recant.
