I Just got this show from a little record store near where I live. While the sound quality is EX there are a few flaws with this source. 1) The very beginning (and I do mean the first 2 or 3 notes) of By-Tor and the Snow Dog are cut off. 2) There is a minor tape eat at 0:51 of By-Tor. 3) There is a minor dropout during Neil's solo. With the exception of those flaws this show does sound quite good & at least it is on a normal CD. (2001-10-27)
Ron's Rush RoIO Review
The legendary St. Louis concert! This is the definitive "Permanent Waves" tape, featuring a rare live "Natural Science." The rest of the songs sound very tight and the band is definitely up for this show. As is mentioned below, there is some controversy surrounding the date. Originally, this was thought to be from 2/14/80. However, several sources disputed this date. In my own experience, I met a fan named Dave Steiner (a great trader, by the way), who told me he was actually at one of the St. Louis PeW shows. He said that the correct dates are Feb 11-13, 1980, and seemed quite adamant about this detail. He wasn?t sure what night or nights were actually used for the broadcast. When the Rush Tour Dates List was updated to reflect the same information, that was enough for me. I originally taped this from an FM broadcast years ago. I haven?t actually heard the "La Villa Strangiato" or "Spirit of St. Louis" CDs, but I have heard tape copies and I think this version is superior. The only flaw is that the very end (and I mean the last two or three notes) of "By-Tor and the Snow Dog" is cut off. (1999-04-01)
