This was the 4th of 6 shows on my last Rush roadtrip of 2002
leading up to NH. I stayed almost next door to the Meadowlands
complex and I remember this was a cold and windy night. Most people
were huddled in the cars before the doors opened, but I remember one
group of fans starting up a bbq grill behind their truck and going
back inside the truck to keep warm and while not paying attention,
proceeded to set the tailgate protector on fire! As I watched this
in my rearview mirror all the cars around him who could see it
as well started honking until the guy realized his truck was
on fire ;)
As for the show itself, it was a great one! I had a good view of
the stage and even though the crowd does get into it quite a bit
they are pretty good overall. Some minor talking in the low sound
parts, but for the most part the music is more than a match for them.
I was 17th row pretty much dead center and the sound was loud with a
very nice mix. Excellent versions of many songs, stuff like The Pass
and Ghost Rider were very nice and the drum solo was one of the best
sounding I have heard! I also distinctly remember the guy next to me
was also taping the show as he had a small square mic clipped onto
his jacket pocket, which made me wonder why he kept looking through
his binoculars?!?!? Oh well, it didn't affect me at all and I did
have a nice time for sure!
Release Notes:
As always, feel free to share this anywhere you'd like, MP3 is fine for
personal use, but please don't distribute in that format. Please do not
alter/remaster/matrix this release. A great deal of effort went into
capturing and producing this recording, and we would prefer it to
remain as we have presented it. Your cooperation will encourage many
more releases in the future. ;)
