Carl Perkins, the Blue Suede Shoes man himself, was one of the seminal rockabilly artists on Sam Phillip’s classic Sun Records label, and comprised the legendary “Million Dollar Quartet” with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis , and Johnny Cash . His songs from this period have been covered by everybody from The Beatles (who put a British stamp on several of them) and Elvis Presley to ELO and Rockpile. Original Sun Greatest Hits collects all of Perkins’ early classics, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Honey Don’t,” “Matchbox,” “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby,” and “Dixie Fried.” This is rockabilly at its finest!
