Why is drunken conception as shown in this film undesirable? Every girl is born with a large number of follicles in her ovaries. This reserve will be gradually used up throughout the reproductive period. When you drink alcohol, ethanol is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and spread throughout the body, including the genital system, having a devastating effect on the eggs, destroying their DNA. Some of the cells die, while others continue to exist with damaged DNA. It is impossible to predict which egg will be fertilized at any given time, but the possibility exists that it will be a defective cell. If this happens, the child is likely to be born with physical or mental disabilities. From this a logical conclusion can be drawn: the more alcohol a woman drinks in her lifetime, the more defective follicles she has, and therefore the greater the risk that a defective egg is fertilised and a sickly child is born. Alcohol is not only harmful before conception; under the influence of ethanol, menstrual disorders can occur, menopause occurs several years earlier and the risk of benign and malignant neoplasms increases. On average, the sperm of a healthy man contains about a quarter of sperm with some kind of abnormalities. But if he abuses alcohol, not only decreases the number of sperm, but also deteriorates their quality. Spermatozoa fully mature within 3 months. Ethanol consumed during this time negatively affects the structure of the male germ cells and the percentage of defective sperm increases. Thus, regular alcohol consumption in men has a negative effect not only on the possibility of conceiving successfully but also on the health of the unborn child. Both hard alcohol and beer have a negative influence on the male reproductive system and on conception. Apart from the fact that this weak alcoholic beverage contains ethanol which negatively affects sperm quality, it is also a source of female hormones - estrogens. Regularly ingested by men, it causes a decrease in testosterone levels, lowers libido and worsens the quality of seminal fluid. |
