An entertaining, competent spy flick No more, no less. It's neither as gleefully eccentric nor as unapologetically brutal as some of Guy Ritchie's better, more memorable films. But it's got some of both of these elements and there's quite a bit of fun to be had here. Definitely better than Marlowe and Tom Hangs |
Huh? This movie is rubbish. It's not a spy flick. It's a try-hard comedy pretending to be a spy flick, and it fails on both aspects. |
As Guy Ritchie Movies Goes.................................... This..................... Was Watchable. "The Gentlemen" Was Far Way Better. |
i think guy ritchie has lost his touch. just really not a great script, and acting is very stilted. i'll watch 'til the end, but only to finish it... |
In a way I agree, but this still had quite some unique style in parts and some surprising dialogue decisions. Overall I enjoyed it even if there was not much of a suspense plot for two thirds or so |
Guest-2174 - I also hunted around and got the lost in translation Swedish to English subtitles. Then I found the matching English subs. Here: - https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/9459622/operation-fortune-ruse-de-guerre-en The srt. file says NORDIC... YOLO but it's in English and a perfect resync |
This comes with scandinavian subs. I found english subs in vlsub for vlc, however they have different wording than the actual film in many scenes. Anyone got matching subtitles |
We downloaded English subs just because Jason Statham's thick Brit accent can be hard to figure at times Never noticed any Scandi subs though |
Yeah, we did too but they were out of sync and couldn't get them to sync so gave up |
https://subscene.com/ My go to for subs. You'll find sync'd with Galaxy, rarbg etc.... HI subs, HI removed, foreign parts only, HI colored etc. |
This was a pretty good movie, the biggest surprise was the Hugh Grant character. The story was fun, and the cast was great. As far as the movie quality it was good and there was no issues with this d/l, no complaints. |
Thanks GalaxyRG. Should be a straight-forward spy-action-adventure, with a fair bit of comedy thrown in - closer to 'The Man From U. N. C. L. E.' Sounds fun. ~KT3030 |
When Channel 5 in the UK get around to screening this they will bill this as 'Jason Statham's Operation Fortune Ruse de Guerre' like they do with all his movies |
Thanks TGx. The subtitles currently available seem to got lost in translation from Swedish back to English. |
Jason Statham and Casper Van Dien are the two actors who really take care of themselves There is a lesson in there somewhere |
Not one of Guy Ritchie's best movies, generic and predictable plot, boring script and uninspired acting. Even Staham looks bored but it's hard to tell with his usual wooden acting. The rest of the cast is just going through the motions. |
