Brown Bird's "The Devil Dancing" employs a style that is at it's foremost nearly contradictory. It leads with a somber, bass-y sound that summons up dread, though the lyrics generally seem to have an cynical optimism to them.
The style remains mostly the same throughout the album, though each song paints a vivid picture of someone who, while stuck in the gutter, looks for hope through a shroud of pessimism.
