The musical life of the New York group Brethren did not work out - after releasing two albums, they broke up in 1972. But things went more than successfully for all four members of Brethren separately. They all became highly sought-after session musicians, recruited by many rock stars. Drummer Rick Marotta has played with the likes of John Lennon, Paul Simon, Stevie Nicks, Steely Dan and more. Guitarist and lead vocalist Tom Cosgrove has played with Al Kooper, Todd Rundgren, among others. Bassist Stu Woods has played with Jim Croce, Barry Manilow, Tony Orlando, and keyboardist Mike Garson has played with David Bowie, the Smashing Pumpkins, and more.
