This is a BRIT movie with BRIT production values which are much SUPERIOR to YANKIE production values That is why the YANKS either don't like it or don't 'get it' |
SPOILER ALERT I can't quite 'fathom' why this is getting such a low rating This movie is beautiful to look at like a moving art gallery There is more than enough going on. One of the scenes wouldn't have looked out of place in the Wicker Man It ends up with Eric being in what at first appears to be a mental asylum but turns out to be a police interview room - or is it? He asks the detective "Am I dead or alive?" She assures him that he is alive. The detective leaves and the phone (just like the one on his home on the cabin) rings and it is the 'fisherwoman' - he says "I escaped the island" then asks "What have you done?" Like she set him up. Hen then opens a door, then we see what looks the outside of the house on the island Like he his still there? Is he dead or alive? |
Stop this infantile nonsense. It wasn't funny before, it isn't now and it never will be. |
Peeps are dissing this because the production left a trail of debt; many of the cast and crew didn't get paid happens But this IS a good movie - gorgeous cinematography, eerie, atmospheric, and a good story |
Very slow atmospheric film that depends quite a bit on the creepy music. Does not get going until about a half hour into it but it lacks a decent story. The ending was so completely off putting as the time investment should have warranted a better payoff. I was looking forward to Tom Hughes and Kate Dickie as they're both excellent. I can't forget Gretta Scacchi because she was completely wasted on this project. Was really hoping for more from this one. Nothing wrong with the video or audio. Thanks for the share. I do not recommend this film. |
Thought this might be worth a watch The trailer doesn't lk too bad but this is taking a right panning over on IMDB What gives? |
