I havnt watched this but I feel Murder on the Orient Express 2017 was way better. |
it is an agatha christie classic whodunnit mystery and has been adapted to tv a few times before. not sure if this will be a good adaptation or not, as having read the book for school, seen the play several times and i have no idea how many times has been seen on british tv over the past 4 decades, it may take fresher eyes and someone more forgiving of russell brand's inclusion to give this a fair assessment. for this brit it's got the smell of money for old rope about it. but don't ask who did it as i may be a butthole, but im not a gaping one :D worth a watch, or even better a read, if you are a future writer as christie gives you all the building blocks for creating a mystery story. taught me a lot about plot devices certainly :) just a thought |
watch the first movie made by the same director/main actor, "Murder on the Orient Express" surprisingly good movie. am hoping this one is just as good. |
thx i will give it a look as i have liked kenneth since the days of henry V. great actor but even better director :) |
How interesting is a whodunnit when you knew whodunnit decades ago? |
This was so close to being close to great. It has a great cast. The storyline/whodunnit is great. The location and settings are great. I think they just made it a little too predictable (for the most part). There were scenes and lines that you just knew were key to the big reveal. I am not saying that everything that happened in the last half hour was predictable, but there were two of us watching and two of us guessed halfway through what the general deal was going to be in the end. Maybe one or two less twists and turns and a little more mystery and I think it would've been really good. Who knows... maybe the next one will be the best yet. Thanks for the upload! |
You lived on Mars the last century? Everyone here on earth knows the story. |
I don't understand this. Christie's books are all about the plot, nothing else. There is no character development, no deeper meaning, nothing. What then is the charm of a movie that has already been done half a dozen times before, this one and the Orient Express alike? Everyone knows the plot, everyone knows who committed the murder, so what are these movies about? How can one possibly enjoy these movies when one doesn't have dementia? |
