Watched till 4th episode and it was booooring. Did Sam Neil appeared again? |
just saw this advertised and was going to check it out. Sounds similar to "War of the Worlds" series from the UK on Epix. It was awesome! (if you can handle sub titles). |
its odd that the plot says that this is through the eyes of 5 people. the soldier, the lover, the kid, the mother, not sure who the fifth is as the only other that springs to mind is only there for 1 episode so although technically true, it is a bit misleading. i did enjoy this up to a point. opening music heavily influenced by 'somewhere over the rainbow' was not off-putting as vlc has a skip function thankfully :D plus the whole superpower thing was a little rushed in the last couple of episodes and seems like a fairly easy and, at this point in the sci=fi world, an obvious plot device that had me rolling my eyes for the first time all season. for a show trying to go outside the box, this was a real disappointment regardless of how it was delivered. that aside, it is brilliantly put together. instead of having aliens all over the place and lots of fighting, this series takes it's time with a much slower tense view. expect long visual scenes instead of dialogue driven to aid that tension feel they went for. there is a lot to like and a little to dislike but it is no doubt worth a watch to see if it floats your boat :) |
