Dopo essere stata uccisa dal sadico Bullseye, Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner) viene resuscitata da Stick (Terence Stamp), un maestro cieco di arti marziali, che la introduce alla via del Kimagure, un’antica disciplina che conferisce il potere della preveggenza.
In seguito ad anni d’intenso allenamento, Elektra è diventata la migliore allieva del maestro, ma anche una spietata killer mercenaria che uccide su commissione. Dopo aver ucciso senza troppe difficoltà il criminale De Marco e le sue guardie del corpo, l’assassina viene contattata da un anonimo per uccidere due persone, di cui ancora non sa l’identità.
Nel frattempo, si reca su una piccola isola per alcuni giorni e lì conosce Mark Miller (Goran Visnjic) e sua figlia Abby (Kirsten Prout), con cui fa presto amicizia. Tutto va bene, finché non scopre che sono loro i bersagli da eliminare: Elektra ora deve compiere una scelta tra il bene e il male nel portare a termine la sua missione...
