This 5-part meditation series is designed to help you receive a better night’s sleep. Research has shown that mindfulness meditation can improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia. These practices will provide both the relaxation and mindful guidance you need to achieve rest and rejuvenation. Episode Overview:

An Evening Ritual
This meditation is an evening ritual to be practiced just before bed. Research has shown you can reprogram your subconscious mind by replacing limiting beliefs right before you go to sleep when your brain is in the theta wave state which is when your mind is more open to suggestions. This practice will help you fall asleep in a positive, grateful state while helping you to bring that positivity into your subconscious and into the next day.

Breath Practice for Sleep
This is a breath-centered meditation to support rest and sleep. During the practice you will bring awareness to your breath while practicing very gentle breathing techniques to help trigger the body’s relaxation response helping to settle the mind in preparation for sleep. This practice can be done just before bed to help ease your body and mind into deep rest.

Body Scan for Relaxation & Deep Sleep

This meditation is a 10 minute body scan for relaxation and deep sleep. You will move progressively through the entire body bringing awareness to each place in the body as you relax fully and deeply preparing for a restful night’s sleep.

Bonus: Extended Body Scan

This meditation is an extended 20 minute body scan for relaxation and deep sleep. For the nights when you need extra support, turn to this extended practice just before bed. You will move slowly and progressively through the entire body bringing awareness to each place in the body as you relax fully and deeply preparing for a restful night’s sleep.

Falling Back to Sleep
This meditation is designed to help guide you back to sleep. If you’ve woken in the middle of the night, or even shortly after falling asleep, it can be frustrating to find yourself awake once again. Often, this frustration devolves into a physiological response fueled by a flood of thoughts that wake us up even more. As we fight the fact that we’ve woken up, we create more resistance to falling back asleep. As a result, we suffer more from the mental distress we create around missing out on rest. This meditation is intended to aid you in cultivating inner quiet and physical stillness so that you may fall back asleep with less effort and greater ease.

Softening Toward Sleep
Ongoing research demonstrates that meditation improves sleep quality, decreases symptoms of insomnia and lessens signs of depression and fatigue. But, when we worry about insomnia or fret over missing out on a good night’s rest, we often end up experiencing less sleep. This meditation is designed to help you invite your body into stillness so you may receive the energetically restorative benefits of rest. This meditation will help you adopt the attitude that says, “even as I lay still I am receiving rest” helping you build effective skills for softening toward sleep.
