Welcome to Social Media for Creatives: Instagram. My perspective shifted while writing this book. I approached it with due diligence to my audience, knowing full well that we feel similarly towards Instagram to that of an aging banana. However, as I began to familiarize myself with this platform, it evolved from "just another pay-to-play platform to stroke our collective egos" to something like meeting an old friend. I now regard it fondly and I hope I might convince you to as well.
This book starts with the basics of Instagram use and ramps up in a comfortable and manageable way. We'll start with goal-setting and profile setup, reveal the algorithm and how it works, then into more advanced subjects. These pages will show you how to manage your business in tandem with Instagram. You'll learn so much more than just how Instagram functions.
My method in writing this is simple: show my readers not only how to use Instagram effectively, but why. My scientific discipline can't help but feel inadequate without the full picture. Although naming the algorithm factors is useful, it doesn't inform how to use them, let alone why they exist. The name of something isn't tangible, useable, or necessarily meaningful.
That's my gift to you. Not another Instagram book, but a reason to Instagram.
