Storyline:
Over a year before the events of the first film, the Abbott family attends their son Marcus' baseball game. Mid-game, the spectators notice a flaming object in the sky hurtling towards the Earth and they leave the baseball park. Soon, the town is attacked by blind alien creatures with hypersensitive hearing.
In the present, the creatures have killed much of Earth's population, and father, Lee Abbott, sacrificed himself to save his remaining family - wife Evelyn, deaf daughter Regan, son Marcus, and their newborn baby. Regan, who discovered that the creatures are vulnerable to high-frequency audio feedback, transmits her cochlear implant hearing aid's noise through a microphone and radio, allowing Evelyn to fatally shoot the creatures in their weakened state.
